Overview

Experience your first Divination class in Hogsworth with your best friend, Jeremiah. Being the 8th quest in the First Year Experience questline, players will need to fix and enchant a broken crystal ball due to an accident of another student. To do that, they will have to find a secret passageway to the Charms classroom and seek help from the Charms Professor. After fixing the crystal ball, players will finally use it to look into their future and complete a maze in order to receive their quest rewards.

Quest Progression

To start this quest, talk to Jeremiah at the bottom of the stairs leading to the Divination classroom.

Dialogue

• [1/3] Phew, that Potions lesson was difficult. It's so interesting to learn about different ingredients and how they come together to create useful potions that serve different purposes!
• [2/3] Looks like we have a Divination lesson next on the schedule. Divination is all about making predictions and looking into the future, and is quite a niche subject to master.
• [3/3] The Divination Classroom is the best location to get practicing. Let's go find the Professor in charge of the lesson!

Objective 1 - Find the Divination Professor

Description

Head up to the Divination Classroom and speak to the Divination Professor.

Dialogue

• [1/5] Hello [player’s username], you must be here for Divination Class. The practice of Divination is ancient, and it can tell you many things about your future.
• [2/5] Unfortunately, we are one crystal ball short for our class. One of them has rolled down the stairs and shattered at the bottom after a student knocked it off a table.
• [3/5] I wish students would be more careful and clean up after themselves.. Anyways, enough about that.
• [4/5] Please would you be a darling and go collect the [3 Crystal Ball Shard] at the bottom of the stairs? Be careful when picking them up — they can contain memories of those who have come into contact with it.
• [5/5] Once you’ve collected them, you’ll need to fix it up. There’s a crafting table in my office you can use. Once you have fixed the Crystal Ball, return to me.
  

Objective 2 - Fetch the Crystal Ball Shards

Description

Gather [3 Crystal Ball Shard] from the bottom of the staircase leading up to the Divination Classroom.

Speak to the Duelling Professor if assistance is needed in casting or to learn more about cosmetic [[Spells List|spells] again.

Objective 3 - Fix the Crystal Ball

Description

Fix the Crystal Ball using the crafting table that can be found in the Divination Professor's Office.

Objective 4 - Speak to the Divination Professor

Description

Bring the [1 Unenchanted Crystal Ball] back to the Divination Professor.

Dialogue

• [1/3] Great! This is looking much better. Unfortunately don't have the ability to enchant it to work properly again, so you'll need to ask the Charms Professor.
• [2/3] Lucky for you, I know a secret passage that can get you there quickly. I used to use it all the time in my school days.
• [3/3] At the very bottom of the staircase leading to the Divination Classroom, there is a statue that contains a secret button. If you push this button, you'll find that it takes you right to the statue at the base of the stairs leading to the Library.

Objective 5 - Locate the Secret Spot on the Statue

Description

Hit the secret spot on the statue at the very bottom of the staircase that leads to the Divination Classroom.

Objective 6 - Find the Charms Professor

Description

Follow the particles to get to the Library. Once there, speak to the Charms Professor.

Dialogue

• [1/2] Oh, hello there. You need this crystal ball re-enchanted? I can do that for you, but first, you need to prove to me that you've been doing your Charms homework!
• [2/2] You can do this by helping the Librarian organise the spell books to prove your knowledge. Make sure to read the description of each book carefully!

Objective 7 - Organise the Books in the Library

Description

Go to the Library just outside of the Charms Classroom to find a stack of books to organise. Take the books from the stack and find their correct shelves.

Objective 8 - Return to the Charms Professor

Description

Talk to the Charms Professor to receive the Enchanted Crystal Ball.

Dialogue

• [1/3] Well, well, well. It looks like you sorted all the books correctly. It seems you indeed have been studying! Glad to see at least some students do.
• [2/3] Reparo! Here is your [1 Enchanted Crystal Ball]. You should probably take this back to the Divination Professor now. I bet she has something exciting planned for your lesson!
• [3/3] Here, take this [1 Divination Warp Key]. It'll get you back to the Divination Classroom in a jiffy. We don't usually do this for students, but I wouldn't want you to be late for your lesson!

Objective 9 - Return to the Divination Professor

Description

Return to the Divination Professor in the Divination Classroom with [1 Enchanted Crystal Ball] using the [1 Temporary Divination Warp Key] given by the Charms Professor.

Dialogue

• [1/2] Ah, you're back. Thank you for getting this fixed. You've saved me a lot of time.
• [2/2] Now, let's get to the lesson. Go ahead and look into the [1 Enchanted Crystal Ball] with an open mind to see a vision of your future.
  

Objective 10 - Look Into the Crystal Ball to Foresee Your Future

Description

Click your [1 Enchanted Crystal Ball] to enter into a vision of your future!

Dialogue

• [1/3] Divination is like a confusing maze full of possible futures. You may have seen something similar when looking into the crystal ball.
• [2/3] I hope the future you saw was insightful. Remember that nothing is set in stone. Hopefully, your future also contains more lessons with me.
• [3/3] Off you go to your next lesson! Don’t forget to use your [Class Schedule] to check what’s next. 

Tips

• While picking up the crystal ball shards near the stairs of the Divination Classroom, try reading all the clues in the room for a more accurate guess.
• If you are not able to remember the use of each spell, try right-clicking while holding your wand to read through the functions of the spells in your hotbar.
• Get the Lumen Aestus spell ready before heading into the maze to be able to complete it quicker.
• Try following the left wall of the maze if you get lost!
