Travel

Overview

There are many types of travel that can be used to allow players to move around the big world map on the server. Instead of running between locations, there are built-in fast travels or quicker modes of travel such as the Fire Dust Network, Warp Keys, and even brooms.

Travel Methods

Location Discovery

When players come across a town for the first time they receive a message on their screen informing them they have discovered said town. Players can then use the Fire Dust Network to travel to some of the locations they have previously discovered. Locations that have been discovered can be seen in a player’s /me menu.

Fire Dust Network

Fire Dust can be obtained for 8 Gold each from house-elf NPCs around the world map. Once purchased, players can use the Fire Dust Network to quickly travel to locations players have previously discovered using the aforementioned Location Discovery.

Brooms

Players can fly on brooms to get to locations at a quicker pace. Broom speed ranges from 8m/s to 20m/s, which is quicker than Minecraft sprinting speed. Brooms are useful for locations that are not incredibly far away but still take considerable time to get to.

Warp Key

The Warp Key provides a quick travel to a town (or Hogsworth) that is free every 7 minutes to warp to. The location of a Warp Key set point often acts as a ‘home’ for a player. Players receive their Warp Key at the beginning of the Level 2 quest First Year Struggles.

Other Travel Methods

There are hidden passages around the world map which provide quick travels between certain towns. These are extremely useful, as many are at a low cost and shorten travel time between locations.
