Overview

Sorrowseers are a level 6, aggressive mob on Potterworld. They are currently living in a forest to the southeast of the Grounds Keeper’s Hut. They are one of the beginner mobs that players may come across during their adventures. While their exclusive mob drops are not required in any quests, they can be used for Professions.

Sorrowseers are magical birds that have also been known as Irish Phoenixes due to their origins and appearance. They have a similar appearance to a vulture and are observed to be an unfed bird. A Sorrowseer is typically seen to have blue eyes and greenish-black feathers. However, they can also have yellow and white feathers.

These creatures are classified with an XX rating by the Ministry of Magicians; this means that a Sorrowseer can potentially be dangerous, as they have a small chance of becoming aggressive.

Behaviour & Defence

Upon entering the forest, Sorrowseers will begin to spawn and immediately attack a player due to their aggressive behaviour.

Sorrowseers have a total of 125 HP each. Their basic attack deals 23 damage and they have two special abilities known as a wind and dash. After being hit with a spell, a Sorrowseer may choose to use one of these two abilities against the player. Their wind attack is an AOE ability that deals 34 damage. The Sorrowseer may also charge up their dash ability to teleport towards a player and attack them dealing 34 damage.

Multiple Sorrowseers can spawn at once and all fly towards a certain player. While these creatures do not move extremely fast, their dash ability allows them to quickly reach a player and attack. Keeping a distance and continuously strafing is important when going up against this mob in order to avoid their attacks.

The Sorrowseer’s diet often consists of numerous types of insects, fairies, and flies. Their sharp beak allows them to easily catch these foods to satisfy their hunger. However, a Sorrowseer will only hunt and gather their food when it is raining. Because of this, they will send out an ear-splitting cry when they sense rain is approaching to inform other Sorrowseers in the area.

Habitat

Sorrowseers originated from Ireland and Great Britain, but later migrated to other locations in Northern Europe. These magical birds tend to live in tear-shaped nests of thorn and bramble when they are nesting.

On Potterworld, Sorrowseers can be found living in a forest to the southeast of the Grounds Keeper's Hut near Hogsworth.

Defeat

As a level 6 mob, Sorrowseers have the chance of dropping exclusive mob drops. These drops include Sorrowseer Feather, Sorrowseer Dung, and Sorrowseer Heart. Additionally, like most other types of mobs, they also have a rare chance of dropping Lvl 1-10 Gear Pieces

Even though the Sorrowseer exclusive mob drops are not used in any quests, they can be used in the crafting of Profession items such as the Puffing Pod Fudge I, Jester's Stew I, Jester's Tea I, and Transformation Tonic I.
