Masquerade Ball CE, December 2021

Overview

The Community Engagement events hosted in December of 2021 were a masquerade ball-theme. It took place between the 26th and 30th of the month. Players were able to partake in activities, purchase exclusive collectables, have fun in the ballroom, and make a daring escape from the hotel.

Fireworks Display

During this activity, players were able to create their own, personalised Firework collectable. There were three stations that players could go to in order to customise their own Firework. They could choose one of three options at each station that changed the colour, name, and message in the description. For colours, there were options of "Grey and Gold", "Green and Red", and "Blue and White". For names, there were options of "Happy New Year!", "At the Ball", and "Masquerading Fun". For messages, there were options of “The best way to ring in the New Year is always setting off some fireworks!”, “Winter Balls are never complete without some fireworks and dancing!”, and “Some leftover fireworks for some Masquerade mischief!” 

Masquerade Hangout

Players were able to explore the ballroom, take pictures, purchase collectables, and create their own mask by gathering the different materials scattered around the ballroom: a coloured dye, Nose Piece, Cloth, and String. Additionally, there were different stations players could go to put the mask together, as well as three different mask options to choose from: a Yellow Mask, a Black Mask, and a Pink Mask.

Masquerade Ball

In this activity, players had to do a variety of tasks to escape this fancy hotel from a suspicious group. They did a series of different tasks and puzzles such as finding the Hidden Key, navigating through a maze, preparing food with the chef, doing parkour, and encountering a boss. Players were given 60 seconds to figure out the boss' one weakness hidden in the garden. If players were able to successfully escape, they received a special collectable.
