Camping CE, July 2021
Overview
The camp-themed Community Engagement event spanned from July 29th to July 31st, 2021. Each date was set to a different time to accommodate the varied time zones.
Chillin' at the Campsite
This activity allowed players to explore the campsite. There was an opportunity to talk to other players and make new friends during this time. A few tents had separate activities like a parkour or a maze, which rewarded players with a token upon completion. Additionally, various shops were set up for players to purchase more collectables using Gold. A mini scavenger hunt was also held to craft the Traveller’s Hiking Backpack collectable. This scavenger hunt required players to find the materials to craft the collectable, which could be acquired by completing the parkour, maze, and finding items scattered around the campsite.
Who Dunnit?
In this activity, players were tasked with discovering the culprit of Autumn, the camp counsellor’s, disappearance. Not only did players have to find out who did it, but they also needed to figure out what weapon was used and where Autumn was taken. Various NPCs and items could be interacted with around the camp to gain information. Once everything had been interacted with, the players could accuse a potential abductor. A special reward could be earned if correct, however, when incorrect, players would end up in jail. Through the span of July’s Community Engagement events, there were 5 different scenarios and outcomes.
