Valentine's Day 2016

Overview

The Valentine’s Day event began on February 11th and ended on February 25th, 2016. This event was to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Potterworld community. There were various collectables, activities, contests, and sales released with the event. 

Storyline

This event did not follow a specific storyline, but it was to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Location

The festivities took place in a Valentine’s Day-themed build. This build was similar to a fair, which includes a Ferris wheel, carousel, tents, and hot air balloons. There was a giant tree in the centre that had leaves with the colours of pink, white, and red. Additionally, the build had a lake with swans that players could sit inside of.

Quests

There were no main storyline quests during this event.

Side Quests

There were no side quests during this event.

Activities

During this event, there were three activities for the players to complete. This included the Tunnel of Love, Amor Vita Parkour, and The Hedge Maze.

Tunnel of Love

The Tunnel of Love was similar to a water ride. Throughout the ride, players would see various scenes of friendships forming. There were also many cupids shooting arrows into different scenes. At the end of the ride, players watched two people fall in love with each other.

Amor Vita Parkour

The Amor Vita Parkour consisted of many challenging jumps. It ranged from fences to ladders, but upon completion of the activity, players received the Amor Vita spell.

The Hedge Maze

The Hedge Maze was a labyrinth made out of hedges. The centre of the maze consisted of a tree with leaves that had the colours representing Valentine’s Day: pink, red, and white. Finding the end of the maze rewarded players with 2 Festival Tokens.

Contests

Skin Contest

A skin contest was announced on February 12th. There were four different categories, which were Pajamas, Evening Wear, Knitwear and Seasonal Clothing. Players were only allowed to participate in one category of their choosing. The deadline for this competition was February 14th. One of the House Ghosts, Zed1, was the judge for this competition.

Poem Contest

Players were given an opportunity to participate in a poem competition during this event. Over 100 players entered, but only one was chosen as the winner. This winner would receive 200 Gold and 5 Academic Credits.
