20th Anniversary Event 2017

Overview

This event celebrated the 20th anniversary of the book release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 1997. The event started on July 11th and ended on July 15th in 2017.

Storyline

There was no overarching storyline for this event.

Location

There was no specific build for this event. Instead, two NPCs were placed in the Great Hall that allowed access to the different activities.

Activities

There were two different activities that players could complete in order to earn Gold and a special collectable.

Chamber Challenge

The Chamber Challenge was a series of six difficult challenges that would award Gold and a collectable upon completion. The six challenges included: the Devil’s Snare Challenge, Flying Keys Challenge, Chessboard Challenge, Troll Challenge, Brewing Challenge, and Moldymort Challenge. The Devil’s Snare Challenge was a dropper where players had to avoid leaves and make it to the ground where they would find a staircase to go down. The Flying Keys Challenge required the player to grab a broom and find the correct 2-block hole to go into. For the Chessboard Challenge, the player had to navigate the correct path on a chessboard. A wrong step could send them back to the start of the chessboard. The Troll Challenge required the player to kill a troll in order to advance. The Brewing Challenge required the player to brew a unique Amor Vida potion. The player would get the ingredients from an NPC and then brew the potion using the cauldrons nearby. For the final challenge, players had to defeat Lord Valdemar. To do so, it was recommended they fight him in parties of two or more.

Hogsworth Letter Parkour

This parkour stretched from Mundane Lane to the Hut-on-the-Rock. There were two parts and four checkpoints throughout the parkour. Players could complete this parkour as many times as they wished.
