Potterworld's 6th Anniversary 2020

Overview

Potterworld’s 6th Anniversary began on May 15th, 2020 and ended on June 8th, 2020. This event highlighted the return of the Fine Arts Fair from 2016 and the Magical Maze. In addition to the festivities, there was a scavenger hunt set up by the Media team.

Storyline

Potterworld’s 6th Anniversary did not follow a specific storyline, but it was about celebrating Potterworld’s history.

Location

The festivities took place in the Great Hall Courtyard. It was decorated with a huge cake in the middle and a few stands surrounding it. When travelling to the Fine Arts Festival, players could see a variety of different leaderboards ranging from tournaments won to most mobs killed.

Quests

During the duration of the event, there was only one main quest. This was the Media Scavenger Hunt. 

Media Scavenger Hunt

The Media Scavenger Hunt had players travel around the server to complete five riddles based on the clues given. They had to use Potterword’s different media platforms to find the locations. Once all five riddles had been completed, players received a Media Flare Launcher. 

Side Quests

There were no side quests during this event.

Activities

The 6th Anniversary event brought 2 activities for players. One was the Magical Maze and the other was the Fine Arts Festival. With these activities, players could earn or purchase special collectables.

Magical Maze

The Magical Maze was similar to the previous years’ mazes. However, this specific year required players to find 10 Anniversary Shards throughout the maze. Once all 10 Shards were found, players needed to locate the Interwizard Cup to receive a special reward.

Fine Arts Festival

Similar to the Fine Arts Festival in 2016, players could view statistical leaderboards. From most mobs killed, most tournaments won, and even most Potterworld Legend medals. A few rewards could be bought around the area as well.

Contests

On May 17th, a skin and writing contest was released. The deadline for the submissions was May 31st at 12 PM PST. For the skin contest, players had to create a skin that was “Potterworld” themed. There were two winners, one determined by Skin Arithmancers and the other determined by the Media Leadership. For the writing contest, the theme was also “Potterworld” and the two categories were Stories and Poetry. There was one winner in each category, both picked by Daily Diviner Lead Producers and the Media Leadership. All winners received 500 Potter Points and a special trophy. Writing contest winners were featured in the Daily Diviner. The winners were announced on June 17th.
