Overview
You are attending your first flying class, and need to make a broom in order to fly! Gather materials around the castle grounds to craft your broom, and experience the mechanics of flying in a simple flying course.
Quest Progression
To begin the quest, speak to the Flying Professor at the Quabbleball Pitch, which is north of Hogsworth.
Dialogue
- [1/4] Hello and welcome to your first flying class! Here you will learn how to fly on a broom.
- [2/4] Before we begin, you will need to make yourself a broom.
- [3/4] Brooms are made from [2 Mandrake Wood String] and magical twigs. I recommend using [3 Wicked Willow Twig] from the Wicked Willow down near the Grounds Keeper's Hut. Don't get too close to its roots, though!
- [4/4] Once you have combined these items into a broom, bring it to me so I can place a charm on it to make it fly! Are you ready?
Objective 1 - Craft a Broom
Description
Combine [2 Mandrake Wood String] from the fairies at the Greenhouses and [3 Wicked Willow Twig] from the Wicked Willow near the Grounds Keeper's Hut in a crafting table to create a broom. Then bring it to the flying professor!
Dialogue
- [1/4] This broom is very nicely crafted. Good work!
- [2/4] Allow me to place a charm on it quickly... and there! It should fly for you now!
- [3/4] Why don't you give it a try by flying through this course!
- [4/4] Click your broom to mount it. Then look in the direction you would like to fly while using W, A, S, D, and SPACE. You can press SHIFT to dismount it!
Objective 2 - Complete the Flying Course
Description
Click your broom to mount it. Use W, A, S, D, and SPACE to control your broom and SHIFT to dismount your broom. Fly through the hoops, then talk to the professor at the end!
Dialogue
- [1/2] Very nice flying there! I recommend attending flying classes to get even better!
- [2/2] You are now dismissed from class.
Tips
- If you are struggling to find the Fairies and Wicked Willow, you can use the map to find the coordinates to both! You can do /map in-game, which provides a link to it.
- Beware of the Wicked Willow. This tree is capable of sending you flying backwards, so be careful of where you step.
- While you cannot get a broom until year 3, you can still practice flying by attending classes! You can use the calendar on the forums to find the dates for flying classes. You can do /nc in-game, which provides a link to it.
