Quest Journal

Overview

Quests are optional tasks given out to players, allowing them to seek out intriguing storylines and partake in worthwhile tasks to help out NPCs across Potterworld. Some quest lines are also in a multi-part story, where quests are unlocked upon completion of other quests allocated to that specific storyline (such as Relics of the Past and Rising Healer: United). Additionally, there are hidden quests around the world that unlock the ability for players to fast travel from one location to another. Completing quests rewards players with experience, which allows players to level up, and Gold, which increases a player’s riches. Moreover, on rare occasions, special items such as unique gear and collectables are rewarded along the way. Travelling around Potterworld and taking part in completing quests allows players to discover new locations around the world map.

Quest Basics

The Quest Journal is initially given out to players once they have completed the introduction quest, A New Year At Hogsworth. If another Quest Journal is needed, one can do /me, click on “Quests,” then click on “Quest Journal” to receive one. To use the Quest Journal, one must hold the item and right-click. If a first-year student wishes to complete Year 1 quests, once the Journal has been opened, the player has to find “Year 1” and then click that category. The information presented in the category shows the quest’s name, coordinates to the quest, and relevant information on the quest, such as its story. The quest status is also located at the bottom of the information. The quest status can be Not Started, In-Progress, or Completed. Each quest is unique and diverse, and each quest's length can vary. Similarly, quests can demand exemplary skills in challenges related to combat, parkour, or riddles. To fight and defeat the world's most dangerous mobs which appear in several quests, Gear is extremely necessary. Gear allows players to enhance their combat to fight the required mobs.

Quests are given out by NPCs across and surrounding towns throughout Potterworld. These NPCs can be recognized by their gold name and the green particles dancing around them. Furthermore, any NPC that will begin a new quest will be signified with a hologram saying "New Quest". However, NPCs that players need to speak to throughout an already started, current quest will have the hologram "Quest". The NPCs found in quests can range from Unmagicals, witches or wizards, or various different mobs. They all require a player's help and expertise! Clicking quest NPCs allows a player to interact with them and read dialogue that is relevant to the quest. Each NPC will give the player the option to accept the quest or decline the quest. If declined, the player can always return.

Each quest contains various objectives that must be completed in their specific order to allow the player to progress. The Quest Journal, along with using the command /q in-game, allows a player to see the current stage they are on at any time, along with the objectives they have completed. The Quest Journal will update each time an objective has been completed with each new objective being added. Higher-year quests tend to be more demanding and difficult than lower-year quests, due to the level of complexity in later quests.

In order to see information on completed quests, one can use the command /q complete while in-game. Alternatively, one can do /me, select the “Quests” option, and then click on “Quests Completed” to view the same GUI. One can hover over a quest’s icon to get a short summary of the quest, the completed objectives, and when it was completed (measured in days and hours). Other options in the “Quests” menu under /me include “Quest Journal”, where a player can retrieve a Quest Journal and “Current Quests”, which takes a player to /q.

There are quests constantly being made and added into Potterworld, and, to see these new updates, be sure to keep an eye on our website where announcements are made. Furthermore, if there are any issues a player may find while completing a quest, be sure to ask the community either through the in-game Quests channel with /ch qc or on the Discord server's #quests channel. If staff assistance is needed, players can also create an in-game ticket with /t (message), or make a support ticket on the website. Staff will always be working hard to make sure quests are playable for everyone.
