Overview
A long time ago, Walden was a peaceful place. It was home to kind and caring people. One fateful day, a wizard found a treasure trunk while venturing to the south of West Walden. Historians speculate that this chest belonged to the famed magical pirate of Gnollberg Port, Red. Upon opening it, the wizard discovered countless riches, more than any one person could know what to do with. The wizard took his chest to his home on the east side of Walden, sharing the wealth with his family and friends.
The people on the west side of Walden, known for being the poorer side of town, protested and claimed that the riches should be split among all of the townsfolk. This caused a bitter fight to break out that made everyone choose a side. Old Walden was destroyed in the battle, and the residents of East Walden kept the treasure.
Today, some of the richest wizard folk in England have a home in East Walden, including the new CEO of Bubbleroot Co. In contrast, West Walden has taken an unfortunate turn and has become run down. Their poor community has few resources outside of what the Ministry of Magicians is willing to give them. Old Walden has been abandoned for many years now, and nature has begun to reclaim the village.
Those wanting to visit Walden today will have to look in the northeast portion of the world map. It is easiest to fly to Walden, and, as it is a level 75 location, most visitors will have their own brooms by the time they are ready to visit.
Walden has a decent amount of amenities. Visitors can find a Shady Dealer, Vendor, Crafting Centre, Fire Dust Network location, Marketplace, and Bank Vault in Walden. The Walden Reputation taskboard and the Dueling Halls NPC can be located right outside of Mayor Otto's house.
Geography & Environment
Situated close to the ocean, the weather tends to be on the warmer side; however, there is some snow found on mountains nearby. Walden has forests of mostly oak and spruce surrounding it on three sides. The east side of the town is clearly better taken care of, with landscaped gardens and estates dotting the area. A small stream, along with a gate and hedges, cuts off the wealthier East Walden from the worse-off West Walden. In order to get to the other side of town, one must pass through the obliterated Old Walden, whose rubble still lines the streets.
Notable Locations

Old Walden can be found across the river from East Walden and directly next to West Walden. Nature has begun to reclaim this part of the town. After it was destroyed, no residents remained to keep it intact. The houses here are destroyed, and most of them missing their roofs or entire walls.
Mayoral Office
The Mayoral Office is located in the farthest west part of Walden. Here is where Walden’s Mayors conduct their business and attempt to reunite the town.
