Herbology

Overview

Herbology is the profession branch that deals primarily with the plants that can be found throughout the world. More specifically, Herbology is focused on the collection of plants that can be used in other professions to create food and potions. This makes Herbology unique in that it is necessary in order to partake in the other two.

Plants used for the Herbology profession can be distinguished by their category, “Plants”, along with the flower icon, ✿, and level in their name. There are currently 9 types of plants that can be found throughout the world, with 72 unique plants when taking different levels into account.

Nodes

Herbology nodes are found throughout the world, usually with a higher density near roads and mob locations. The level of the Herbology node correlates with the level of the area or nearby mob. There are 8 possible levels that a Herbology node, and therefore plant, can be; these are Lvl. 1, Lvl. 10, Lvl. 20, Lvl. 30, Lvl. 40, Lvl. 50, Lvl. 60, and Lvl.70. This is unlike the Cooking and Potions professions that can produce items up to Lvl. 80. Unlike the other professions, Lvl. 70 plants are used to make both Lvl. 70 and Lvl. 80 items.

Plants

There are nine different plants available around the world: Asphodel, Dittany, Gurgle Weed, Lunaplum, Nightshade, Puffing Pod, Wolfsbane, Wormwood, and Wrinklefig. Multiple different plants are necessary in order to create a specific food or potion, with each item requiring two different types of plants. In order to see the full recipes for each item, players can go to a Cooking Oven or Brewing Station in-game or check the recipe book given by Craftsman Mathaelda.
