Overview
Emberskins are Level 51, aggressive mobs that currently reside in a burning town located east of the town of Griffin’s Hollow. There is currently only one quest that requires the player to encounter Emberskins, the Year 5 quest Potion Problems. Their exclusive mob drops can also be used to craft profession recipes.
Their venom, eggs, and skin can be used in many potions and magical foods. Frozen Emberskin eggs are of particular value, as they can be used in love potions. Their eggs can also be eaten whole to cure ague, or a fever, such as malaria.
Behaviour & Defence
Emberskins are relatively easy to fight, however, they are aggressive and will attack those who stray too close. They can be lethal to players who are unprepared to fight the creature.
With a total of 1645 HP, Emberskins can be difficult to kill without gear that allows spells to do additional damage. Their melee attack deals 329 damage and they have three additional abilities: a swipe attack, a sprint attack, and a dash attack that will all deal 493 damage. The Emberskin’s swipe attack will do 493 damage and set the player on fire. The sprint attack allows the Emberskin to run towards an attacking player at a quicker speed. Fire particles from the creature indicate that the Emberskin will attack soon. For the dash attack, the Emberskin will move quickly in a straight line towards the player. When trying to avoid the Emberkins’ dash, the player should look out for dark orange particles coming from the creature, as this is when it is preparing the attack.
Habitat
Unlike Unmagical snakes, Emberskins are born from whenever a magical flame is left unattended for an extended period of time. As such, when a magical fire or one connected to the Fire Dust Network burns for too long, Emberskins may emerge. After they are created, they slither into dark corners to lay their glowing, red eggs. The Emberskin will then disintegrate after one hour and their eggs will burst into flames a few minutes later.
On Potterworld, there is a large colony of Emberskins that live in a burning village to the east of Griffin’s Hollow. The fires there are still blazing and most of the ground is charred black due to the fires. The leaves of trees have been burnt off and many of the houses in the centre of the village have begun to collapse. The Emberskins have found small caves in the surrounding mountains where they have made their nests. Additionally, Asphodel Lvl. 50 plant nodes can be found within and around the caves.
Defeat
Upon their defeat, Emberskins have a chance of dropping Level 51-60 broom materials, which include Silver Footholds, Yew Handle, Wool Handlewraps, and Vine Bristles. They have the rare chance to drop Lvl 51-60 Gear Pieces, along with Broom Recipes. Additionally, they can drop Emberskin-exclusive drops such as Emberskin Venom, Emberskin Egg, and Emberskin Skin. These Emberskin-exclusive drops can be used to create the following profession items: Dark Cocoacursed Delights V, Puffing Pod Tea V, and Cursed Brew V.
