Overview
With 56 mobs currently found in the world, there is a variety of mobs for students to encounter. These mobs have a multitude of types, including Snakes, Slugs, and Toads, Small Humanoids, Humanoids, Cats and Critters, Flying, Nature, and Water. Each of these types drops different generic mob drops and a mob’s type is not dependent on its level. Mobs will drop these generic drops, along with mob-specific drops and gear pieces. These mob-specific drops can also be found in hidden chests, and, moreover, gear pieces drops are dependent on the level of the mob and will correlate to the different years a player can be. Additionally, mobs Level 31 and above have the chance to drop broom recipes, which can be crafted into flyable brooms.
When defeating mobs, a player will gain XP. The amount of XP varies on the player’s level, along with the level of the mob. As the player attempts to defeat mobs of higher levels, it would be wise of them to craft gear in order to effectively kill mobs. In general, the higher the level of a mob is, the higher health it has and the higher damage it does.
Mob Damage
Every mob has a basic attack that it will hit the player with. Aggressive mobs will begin to attack the player without being hit, while Neutral mobs need to be hit to begin attacking. After any mob has been hit, they will start to use special attacks that fall into a few different types. When a mob uses a Sprint attack, it will cover a large amount of distance to reach the player. A Dash attack is used to quickly charge at the player. An AOE attack will create an area of sustained damage around the mob, often marked by a circle of particles, that will sometimes give harmful effects to the player. A Splash Missile is similar to an AOE attack, however there is a projectile that creates the area of damage instead of coming from the mob itself. Swipe attacks will happen when the player is fairly close to the mob and the mob will quickly make a slash at the player. These special attacks are possible to predict slightly before they happen, as particles will begin to come off of or surround the mob. Special attacks are also Spell Tree-based and how much damage they do will be impacted by the player’s gear.
Mob Locations
All mob locations can be found on the map, with the exception of a few mobs that are hidden within Diagonal Lane in London. On the map, there are “Creature” icons, green circles with a lighter green paw print in the middle, marking where mobs are located. These icons can be clicked on to see the name and coordinates of the mob.
It is possible to use the Fire Dust Network or a Warp Key in order to travel around the map, however, locations must be explored before it can be accessed through Fire Dust or set in a warp key. To explore a location, you must walk or fly into the area. Even after unlocking every area, many mobs are located far from towns and travel will be necessary to reach them.
