Overview

Pogbins are Level 62, aggressive mobs on Potterworld. Their burrows are currently located in a forest to the southwest of Riddleyard. These creatures are quite powerful and require good gear and strong spells in order to survive and defeat. While their exclusive mob drops are not required in any quests, they can be used for professions.

Pogbins are very small, hairy demons that have a humanoid appearance and disproportionately large heads. These creatures are very good at camouflaging into the environment, as they resemble shiny, grey boulders when they are crouched. They will use this ability to their advantage when following their prey at a great distance. These demons will typically stay in the shadows of the person they are hunting and then quickly crouch if the person turns around. Because of this, the victim will oftentimes begin to panic and fall into a state of futility and despair after a few hours of not being able to see what is hunting them; this condition will only become more severe the longer a Pogbin tails them. The moment a victim falls to their knees out of despair is the moment this creature will attack and devour them.

Despite their hunting capabilities, these demons are actually quite easy to defeat as simple jinxes and curses are very effective against them. However, a person first must discover they are being followed by a Pogbin in order to avoid being devoured. While most witches and wizards will use the Stupeficus spell to repel them, kicking it is also just as effective.

Behaviour and Defence

Upon entering the forest, Pogbins will begin to spawn and immediately attack a player due to their aggressive behaviour. While these creatures are initially slow-moving, they will begin to run more quickly after being hit with a spell and have abilities that allow them to reach a player farther away.

Pogbins have a total of 2640 HP each. Their basic attack deals 528 damage and they have three special abilities known as swipe, burrow, and dodge. After being hit with a spell, a Pogbin may choose to use one of these three abilities against the player. Their swipe attack is a special ability that swipes at a player and deals 792 damage. The Pogbin may then use their burrow attack which is an AOE ability that also deals 792 damage. Finally, this creature might use their dodge ability to randomly teleport to the left or the right in order to avoid incoming spells.

Multiple Pogbins can spawn at a time and all run towards a certain player. This can quickly get overwhelming, as they can deal quite a bit of damage. Having good gear and strong spells is necessary in order to survive and defeat these creatures.

Habitat

Pogbins are native to the Russian wilderness. They typically live in rocky, forested terrain and will build miniature, house-like structures above their burrows. On Potterworld, Pogbins can be found living in a forest to the southwest of Riddleyard. Additionally, Wrinklefig Lvl. 60 nodes can be found scattered around their burrows as well as the surrounding forest area.

Defeat

As a Level 62 mob, Pogbins have the chance of dropping Level 61-70 broom materials as well as exclusive mob drops. These drops include Gold Footholds, Rowan Handle, Cotton Handlewraps, and Twig Bristles as well as Pogbin Ear, Pogbin Brain, and Pogbin Remains. Additionally, like most other types of mobs, they also have a rare chance of dropping Lvl 61-70 Gear Pieces and Broom Recipes. Materials such as Footholds, Handle, Handlewraps, and Bristles can play a part in crafting such recipes into brooms. While their exclusive mob drops are not required in any quests, they can be used in the crafting of profession items such as the Jester's Stew VII, Puffing Pod Tea VII, Hijinx Mixture VII, and Restoration Draught VII.
