Overview

Hobgoblins are Level 35, aggressive mobs on Potterworld. To the untrained eye, a Hobgoblin may appear much like a Goblin, albeit a bit taller, but there are key differences that distinguish this creature from its supposed identical twin. Much like Goblins, Hobgoblins are shorter than the average wizard but have long fingers and feet to make up for the lost height and dome-shaped heads. What differentiates them from their Goblin counterparts is their varying range of skin colours and the thin layer of hair on top of it. Perhaps this has something to do with the much more varied habitats of Hobgoblins as opposed to Goblins.

Behaviour and Defence

Hobgoblins are troublemakers and wreak havoc wherever they go, although they do not tend to do any serious harm to their subjects. Nonetheless, Hobgoblins have a knack for scaring the unsuspecting witch or wizard, or in some cases the unfortunate unmagical passer-by. Most commonly, they damage property and steal precious objects, but they occasionally go for more violent crimes. After a quick dash in the direction of their victim, they can shoot their self-made missiles, dealing 165 damage, or when in a real rage, toss a boulder and deal 247 damage, devastating their opponent. It’s unsurprising that these creatures have 825 damage, enough to take a few blows before sneakily throwing out their own and knocking out their opponent.

Since these creatures are well-known havoc-wreakers, every witch and wizard should know how to protect themselves. The easiest way to do this is banishing them with a gift of clothing, but simple charms, jinxes, and curses will do for those unwilling to make a garment offers. Hobgoblins are usually only destructive, not violent, but any wizard or witch attempting to take them on should be warned that they will fight back!

Habitat

Hobgoblins can live almost anywhere on earth, as their trickery coincides with an innate cleverness that lends itself towards survivability. They avoid heavily populated areas, so most countries try to keep their Hobgoblin population down to one colony in the countryside, although these are usually not far enough from civilisation to keep them from meandering into towns and cities. Wherever they go, you can expect them to have huts made of mud and sticks with charred or torn up grounds surrounding them.

On Potterworld, Hobgoblins can be found located to the east of The Hovel. Additionally, oftentimes surrounding these villages are magical plants like Wolfsbane Lvl. 30 nodes.

Defeat

Upon defeat, Hobgoblins have a chance of dropping Level 31-40 broom materials, Hobgoblin Bogies, Hobgoblin Bones, and Hobgoblin Nails. These materials can be used in quests and crafting broom recipes. Their specific mob drops can be used in the crafting of profession items such as Cursed Brew III, Dark Cocoacursed Delights IV, Charming Fizz Tea IV, Hijinx Mixture IV, and Cursed Brew IV. Hobgoblins also have a small chance of dropping random Lvl 31-40 Gear Pieces.
