Overview

Mermaids are Level 55, aggressive mobs on Potterworld. Curly bright cyan hair flows behind the heads of Mermaids as they dive through the waves. They have long and thin faces with firm, distinctly pointed jawlines. The Mermaid’s arms are reminiscent of rubber with their flexibility and length, ending with small hands and sharpened fingers. These creatures are some of the most fearsome in all of the known magical kingdom. Their torsos are dense and thick for fortification, with a slight curve to it to allow for extreme efficiency and mobility. Even their tails are flexible, being able to flick back at a 90-degree angle to the rest of the body. Almost every feature of these creatures is intended to grant them the utmost efficiency, not only for evolutionary purposes, but for deadly effect as well.

One discernible feature, however, of these creatures is widely considered its most beautiful: the spectrum of blue that makes up their skin tone. In some areas, their skin shines a bright turquoise, while in others there is a deep cerulean blue. In most cases, the brighter colours appear in streaks along the edges of its body.

Behaviour and Defence

While the awe-inspiring sight of a school of Mermaids may be calming or relaxing to many, approaching these creatures with any sort of harmful intentions will be neither calming nor relaxing for anyone involved. While Merpeople move with grace and poise, when they are inches away, they can terrorise with the same ease as a Dementare. Even at a distance, they have the means by which to attack with their spears and tridents. Mermaids are most agile when they are in the waves, able to swim in any direction and utilise their speed and tails more efficiently.

A large portion of wizarding society looks down on Merpeople, as they see their bodies as inferior to humans’, but Mermaids are quick to disprove such prejudices when they come into contact with humans. With every new act of discrimination, these creatures stray further into uninhabited waters, so it is likely that humans will soon lose control over the oceans if they continue to look down on those that are tethered to the sea.

Merpeople truly are terrifying, with their innate aggressiveness and capability. They are able to deal 392 damage alone when up close, and their tridents and spears deal 588 damage, easily, not to mention they have tank-like endurance with 1960 HP. If any human plans to take these vicious creatures on, they ought to reconsider their current abilities first.

Habitat

While the Mermaids are capable of living in both fresh and saltwater, they lean towards the ocean where they can live in large colonies with little to no human interference. Nevertheless, there are several on-land colonies beside the water, specifically in Ireland where they live in spacious caves behind a curtaining waterfall that keeps humans at bay. Gurgle Weed Lvl. 50 plant nodes tend to grow near the Ireland colony.

Defeat

Upon defeat, Mermaids have a chance of dropping broom materials such as Silver Footholds, Yew Handle, Wool Handlewraps, and Vine Bristles. Mermaids also have a small chance of dropping random Lvl 51-60 Gear Pieces and Broom Recipes. Mermaids also can drop the mob-specific drops Mermaid Teeth, Mermaid Gills, and Mermaid Fins.
