Overview

Ogres are Level 29, aggressive mobs on Potterworld. The exact origin of Ogres is not known, but it is widely believed that these tall monstrosities hail from the North in Scotland. They are some of the ugliest creatures known to the magical world, and the Ministry of Magicians classifies them as “beings (possibly)”, a term placing their status firmly below any human. While they have humanoid features, it is quite apparent that they are no spawn of a witch or wizard. Instead, they are more reminiscent of a Ghoul with their slimy properties and buck teeth. Despite their physical similarities, though, Ogres are far more intelligent than the average Ghoul. Throughout a player’s time at Hogsworth, they will inevitably come into contact with these beings for the sake of Felix in Edgebrook, where they will be asked to collect some Ogre drops in the quest Electric Curation.

Behaviour and Defence

While Ogres may be classified as sub-human “beings”, it is certain that they make up for their lack of humanity and intelligence in strength and rage. Whosoever enters their territory without ample means for self-defence is a fool, indeed. Because of their above-average intelligence for a mob, Ogres are able to create rudimentary weapons such as axes, spears, and staffs with which to attack their victims. These beings do not discriminate over who they attack- they will hunt down any human that they see sneaking around their grounds the moment that they see them.

Upon spotting one such victim, these 550 HP mobs will start to lumber towards them, weapon in hand and violence in mind. Ogres are generally very slow unless enraged when they call upon all their strength to sprint towards whoever attacked them. They deal 110 damage when they are within striking distance, and if they are unable to get within range, they pick up a nearby boulder and toss it, dealing 183 damage on impact. So long as their opponent has enough HP and experience to avoid their attacks, they will do well against the lumbering, ugly giants.

Habitat

Because of the general lack of information on the Ogres’ origin, there is not much known about their native habitats. While there are theories on the subject, the most popular being that they came from Scotland, the only known Ogre-inhabited location is a small forest to the West of Edgebrook, directly on the South Coast where the Ogres live in self-made huts, built into the base of dead trees. That particular forest grows a plethora of Wolfsbane Lvl. 20 plant nodes.

Defeat

Upon defeat, Ogres have a chance of dropping Ogre Bones, Ogre Nails, and Ogre Bogies. These ingredients can be used in professions items like the Dark Cocoacursed Delights III, Charming Fizz Tea III, and Hijinx Mixture III, the aforementioned quests like Electric Curation. Ogres also have a small chance of dropping random Lvl 21-30 Gear Pieces.
