Location Information
Name: Ministry of Magicians

Overview

In the early 18th century, the Ministry of Magicians was a governing body created under the pragmatic leadership of Undric Glump. Accordingly, one of their earliest tasks was to outlaw the spells Mortiavara, Tormentum, and Imperium. Later on, the Ministry continued to found the notorious Dark Prison. At the turn of the 19th century, Britain successfully hosted its first Quabbleball World Cup, and the Department of Magical Games and Sports was founded, which came to be one of the Ministry’s greatest developments. Nathan Wolf, who was elected in 2014, is the current Minister for Magicians.

The Ministry of Magicians cannot be found on Potterworld’s world map. As this is an easter egg location, players are meant to visit it in their spare time via two entrances in London’s King Cross: through using a red telephone box or the gentlemen’s toilet. To get to London’s King Cross, players can talk to the Conductor at the Knight Shuttle or take the train from Hogsend station. From there, players can interact with certain red telephone boxes to open up a keypad. By inputting the code “62442”, which spells out the word “MAGIC”, players are transported from the street to the Atrium on Level Eight. Alternatively, players can use the gentlemen’s toilet to the west of King’s Cross station’s entrance. By flipping a lever above one of the underground public toilets, players are transported from the bathroom to one of the fireplaces in the Atrium on Level Eight. A third entrance, via Fire Dust Network, is unlocked upon first discovering the Ministry.

At the Ministry, visiting players can expect to find a Fire Dust Network location, Minigames, and a News Seller. There is no Crafting Centre, Marketplace, Bank, Tommy Riddle, Shady Dealer, or Vendor here.

Geography & Environment

Hidden well from the Unmagicals beneath the Whitehall area of London, the Ministry Headquarters spans many rooms, departments, and levels. Upon utilising one of its three entrances, visitors are greeted in the Atrium on Level Eight. This gargantuan open space is lined with dark green brick and contains many tunnels and elevators leading to various parts of the Ministry. There are many offices lining the walls as well, and a golden statue stands tall atop a fountain. At the Atrium is an elevator room, providing access to the Ministry’s different levels. Travelling to certain levels can only be done with authorisation.

Trivia

  • In the gentlemen’s toilet, there is a Flusher dropper minigame.
  • On Level Two, the Head of Law Enforcement’s office still contains the lavishly pink decorations from one of its former occupants. Moreover, legend still has it that it is still raining in one of the offices.
  • On Sublevel 2-B, there is an enormous library across from the Head of the Auralock’s office, and there is also a Duelling and Training room.
  • Some offices and floors have easter eggs and secret rooms. For example, atop Level Eight’s elevator room lies a worthy secret to find.
