Overview
Lunarcalves are Level 40, neutral mobs that currently reside near wheat fields east of the town of Eldham Ridge. There are currently no quests that require the player to defeat Lunarcalves, but their mob exclusive drops can be used to craft profession recipes.
Behaviour & Defence
Lunarcalves tend to lumber around the wheat fields near their underground burrows. Only emerging from their burrows during full moons when they perform strange mating dances under the moonlight. Unmagicals often are confused and intrigued by the geometric patterns that Lunarcalves leave behind in the wheat. There are some theories created by Unmagicals to explain these crop circles, ranging from being the work of Unmagical artists to extraterrestrial beings. Witches and wizards watch the Lunarcalves’ dance, not only for their amusement, but also to collect their droppings before sunrise. Silver Lunarcalf dung is a valuable, effective fertiliser that can be spread on magical herbs and flowers to make them grow strong, healthy, and quicker.
With a total of 1045 HP, Lunarcalves can be difficult to kill without gear that allows spells to do additional damage. Their melee attack deals 209 damage and they have two additional abilities: dash and an AOE (area of effect) attack that will both deal 313 damage. For the Lunarcalf to do any attack, the player must have caused damage to the Lunarcalf first. For the dash attack, the Lunarcalf will move quickly in a straight line towards the player. When trying to avoid the Lunvarcalves’ dash, the player should look out for when a circle of blue and white particles surrounds the creature, as this is when it is preparing the attack. When gearing up for its AOE attack, there will be blue particles above the Lunarcalf in vertical lines. This attack will create an area of damage that is best avoided. If the player does get caught in the AOE’s radius, 313 damage is dealt.
