Overview

Wamprus Cats are Level 53, aggressive mobs on Potterworld. They are often mistaken for a mountain lion or cougar, but are actually entirely different creature. These crafty cats are notorious for being difficult to kill thanks to their innate strength and agility. In fact, Wamprus Cats are capable of the incredible feats of walking on their hind legs and outrunning arrows. Despite what the famous author Akakios Horatius claims in his popular book ‘Supports of the Creatures’, Wamprus Cats are not as likely to “give the evil a taste of their own medicine." They instead are trying to protect their territory from perceived threats, thanks to their history with the Cherokee, fighting for space in their native territory in the Appalachian Mountains. Interestingly, these ferocious felines even have a house at the Silvermorne Wizarding Academy named after them. Located near Wigtown, the Wamprus Cat's drops are utilised in the quest The Bells of Wigtown.

Behaviour and Defence

Most of the information on the Wamprus Cat comes from the Cherokee, who have lived side-by-side with these creatures for hundreds of years. Based on their records, the Wamprus Cat’s eyes have strong hypnotic power and Revelomency abilities. The Cherokee are, in fact, the first and only people to have successfully collect Wamprus Cat hair and used it as a wand core.

For those wizards brave enough to take on these famously fierce felines, it is advised to keep your distance. Wamprus Cats can leap 3 metres in an instant, and their incredible speed allows them to sprint 7 metres in mere seconds. One swipe of their claws can deal 359 damage, and when they leap onto their opponent in swipe and dash movements, their innate magic in a special attack gives them 538 damage dealt. With their 1795 HP, these cats’ claws need to be avoided at all costs to have any hope of defeating them while simultaneously dealing out plenty of damage. These creatures are better left to the more experienced witches and wizards, like 5th and 6th-year students.

Habitat

The Wamprus Cat is native to the Appalachian Mountains, nearby the last remaining Cherokee wizard tribes. However, the Wamprus Cat species has several colonies in other mountain ranges, most notably in the mountains near Riddleyard and Wigtown. Do not be surprised if you find a couple of skulls in the caves they reside in- these cats bite! For brewing and cooking purposes, Wormwood Lvl. 50 grows nearby their caves.

Defeat

Upon defeat, Wamprus Cats have a chance of dropping Level 51-60 broom materials; Silver Footholds, Yew Handle, Wool Handlewraps, and Vine Bristles as well as Wamprus Cat Fur, Wamprus Cat Meat, and Wamprus Cat Tails. These ingredients can be used in professions, quests, and crafting brooms. Wamprus Cats also have a small chance of dropping random Lvl 51-60 Gear Pieces and Broom Recipes. Wamprus Cat drops can be used to craft the professions items Puffing Pod Fudge VI, Jester's Stew VI, White Cocoacursed Tea VI, and Hijinx Mixture VI.
