Overview
Wigtown is a location renowned for its chilly and cold weather. The small town is located in Scotland and is situated on the coast of the Irish Sea. Despite Wigtown having a population of a thousand Unmagicals, two hundred magicals live alongside them in this town. Wigtown is also known as being a peaceful town fit for its rapidly increasing population of magicals.
Wigtown has had a presence of magical beings for over a millennia, but the growth of the magical population started after the International Statute of Secrecy which was established in 1692. The town is also home to one of the best Quabbleball teams of the British Isles, the Wigtown Wayfarers.
The Fire Dust Network in Wigtown is located in a hotel that is east of the main town and is situated in front of a roundabout. The Shady Dealer, Vendor, Crafting Centre, Marketplace, and Bank Vault can all be found in the main town of the location or near its surroundings. The Wigtown Reputation taskboard is found west of the In-Game Store near the Dueling Halls.
Wigtown is located on the western side of the world map. The location can be discovered by players at any time, however, the level range of Wigtown is 50 and above.
Geography & Environment
Wigtown is a small town that is covered in snow, due to its freezing climate. The minor buildings in this town are primarily residential and are mostly made out of sandstone blocks and oak wood. Roads weave throughout these buildings and are lined with cobblestone pathways. Snow covers the landscape of Wigtown, however, trees and a sparse population of vegetation peak out through the blanket of snow.
Notable Locations
Wighenge
Wighenge is located on the southern side of Wigtown. The standing stones are known as Wighenge to the magical population, however, they are also known as the Standing Stones of Torhouse to the Unmagicals. These stones are in a circular formation and are in ruins, with the age of the stones being traced back to the neolithic era. Because of this, the stones are the object of great interest to magical archaeologists.
Players can learn more about Wighenge and the mysterious theories of its origins through the quest The Truth About Wighenge.
The Radio Tower and Quabbleball Pitch
The Wigtown Radio Tower and Quabbleball pitch are located southwest of the town centre. The Wigtown Quabbleball Pitch is one of the most well-maintained pitches in all of the United Kingdom. This is due to the Radio Tower which is used to mask the Quabbleball pitch from Unmagicals. It is operated by the Ministry of Magicians with permission from the Unmagical government.
Wigtown Church
The Wigtown Church is located north of the town’s centre. The small church is built out of the same blocks as the other residential buildings in the area, however, it features a cobblestone roof.
