Overview
Kappas are Level 76, aggressive mobs in Potterworld. They are found in the coastal marsh between Walden and Gnollberg Port. Their exclusive mob drops are not required in any quests but can be used for professions.
This monkey-like creature possesses unique green, scale-covered skin. Webbed hands extend from their arms, and a bowl-like impression nests on top of its head, holding water that provides a Kappa with its strength.
Behaviour & Defence
Kappas are an aggressive mob with murderous intentions. Upon nearing their habitat, they will begin to spawn and immediately attack a player due to their aggressive behaviour.
Any human that wades into the shallow waters has placed themselves in danger of being attacked by the murderous Kappa. After exercising their brutal way of strangling and drowning their victims, Kappas feast on the blood of their human victims, as this is their source of nutrition. However, there are ways to escape the clutches of one of these creatures. They can be rendered temporarily harmless by the victim throwing a cucumber with their name carved into it at the Kappa. Another method would be getting the Kappa to bow its head and spill the water that resides at the top of its head. This will make the Kappa lose its strength and provide the victim with an opportunity to escape.
Kappas have a total of 4720 HP each. Their basic melee attack deals 944 damage and they have two special abilities known as swipe and AOE (Area of Effect). After being hit with a damage spell, a Kappa will either swipe at the player with white slashes or create a circle of blue particles for the player to avoid. If the player gets hit by either, 1416 damage is dealt. To best counter this mob, it is best to have gear equipped, as it helps in dealing more damage and protects against any hits.
Habitat
Originally, these vicious water demons are known to primarily reside in Japan’s shallow ponds and lakes. Within Potterworld, Kappas can be sighted lurking around the coastal marsh east of Walden and west of Gnollberg Port, all of which are towards the northeast end of Great Britain. This spawn area resides in a forest biome containing a variety of dirt and podzol, spruce and oak trees, small ponds of water, as well as the occasional rock mounds. Mainly Gurgle Weed Lvl. 70 nodes can be found here.
Defeat
As a Level 76 mob, Kappas have the chance of dropping Level 71-80 broom materials such as Iron Footholds, Elder Handle, Leather Handlewraps, and Straw Bristles. There is a rare chance of them dropping Lvl 71-80 Gear Pieces and an even rarer chance to drop Broom Recipes. Additionally, the mob drops exclusive Kappa drops. These include Kappa Foot, Kappa Gills, and Kappa Tooth, which can be used in crafting the following profession items: Charming Fizz Cakes VIII, Charming Fizz Tea VIII, Charming Concoction VIII, Restoration Draught VIII, Charming Fizz Cakes IX, Charming Fizz Tea IX, Charming Concoction IX, Restoration Draught IX, and Felix Fortuna.
