Overview
Flame Crawlers are Level 15, aggressive mobs on Potterworld. They are currently located in a burnt down forest west of Hogsend. While they are a lower-levelled creature, they deal quite a bit of damage if there are multiple and require some gear and certain spells in order to survive. Their exclusive mob drops are not required in any quests, but can be used for professions.
Flame Crawlers that have rare gems on their backs are considered a protected species, as they are extremely sought after. These creatures can have a variety of unique jewels such as rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. However, their shells tend to be sought after for different reasons. While Unmagicals might try to obtain them solely for their jewels, some wizards will use their shells as a cauldron.
This creature is also occasionally bred with other species. For example, when bred with a Manticore, an Explosively-Ended Newt is created.
Behaviour & Defence
Upon entering the burnt forest, Flame Crawlers will begin to spawn and immediately attack a player due to their aggressive behaviour. Since this mob is a fire-based creature, it is important to have both healing and flame-dousing spells on hand.
Flame Crawlers have a total of 185 HP each. Their basic attack deals 37 damage and they have two special abilities known as flame and swipe. After being hit with a spell, a Flame Crawler may choose to use one of these two abilities against the player. Their flame attack is an AOE ability that does an initial hit of 79 damage and then sets the player on fire; Without a proper spell to put this flame out, the fire tick damage can deal 150+ total damage to a player. A Flame Crawler can also choose to use their swipe attack which also deals 79 damage.
Multiple Flame Crawlers can quickly spawn and all run towards a certain player. This can easily get overwhelming, as they can deal quite a bit of damage together. Having some gear and specific spells is necessary in order to survive and defeat these creatures.
Habitat
While Flame Crawlers are native to Fiji, they can be found living in a burnt down forest to the west of Hogsend. Additionally, Gurgle Weed Lvl. 10 nodes can be found scattered around the surrounding area.
Defeat
As a Level 15 mob, Flame Crawlers have the chance of dropping exclusive mob drops. These drops include Flame Crawler Pincer, Flame Crawler Foot, and Flame Crawler Gills. Additionally, like most other types of mobs, they also have a rare chance of dropping Lvl 11-20 Gear Pieces. The Flame Crawler mob drops can also be used to craft profession items such as Charming Fizz Cakes II, Charming Fizz Tea II, Charming Concoction II, and Restoration Draught II.
