Overview

Werewolves are Level 68, aggressive mobs in Potterworld. They are found along the barren coast northwest of Antrum. While one of their exclusive mob drops is required in the quest A Feathered Friend, this mob is also encountered during the The Werewolf Curse and the Dangers of the Night quests.

Werewolves have incredibly nimble grey or pale white skin. The second it hits the dead of night, lumps of hair bulge out of their backs and the veins in their neck stretch. They have frail and pointed heads resembling a young dog without most of its hair. Moreover, their thin legs spike out at a wide-angle to the rest of their bodies. Because of their lengthy structures, their bodies can move comfortably on four or two paws. Their eye colours can vary, but they often glow a wild, petrifying yellow.

Upon a full moon, certain humans undergo an uncontrollable transformation that gives them wolf-like features and savage instincts, turning them into a Werewolf. This lasts throughout the night and allows the Lycanthrope to keep their memories but they cannot control their bodies.

The only way to securely maintain the dangerous effects of a Werewolf, which partially cures them of Lycanthropy, is through the Wolfsbane potion. The Wolfsbane potion gives the Lycanthrope more control over their mind than they would have as a free Werewolf. Throughout history, the stock of Wolfsbane throughout the world has remained extremely low.

Behaviour and Defence

Werewolves are a slow, aggressive mob. Upon nearing their habitat, they will begin to spawn and immediately attack a player due to their aggressive behaviour.

They are naturally aggressive towards anyone who approaches, whether they are hostile or not. However, Werewolves tend to be significantly less aggressive towards animals. If left alone without any humans or animals to be distracted by, most werewolves will harm themselves by either biting or scratching out of frustration.

Werewolves have two signature calls that naturally strike fear into any passerby. The first is their blaring and echoing howl, which attracts many of the same kind and can be heard from miles away. The second is their hissing, raspy growl accompanied by a snarl and followed with a swift attack. Werewolves have a total of 3540 HP each. Their basic melee attack deals 708 damage and they have three special abilities known as swipe, sprint, and dash. After being hit with a damage spell, a Werewolf will either swipe at the player with white slashes, sprint towards the player in a fast motion, or dash towards the player with a leap amongst a flurry of red particles. If the player gets hit by either, 1062 damage is dealt. To best counter this mob, it is best to have gear equipped as it helps in dealing more damage and protects against any hits.

Habitat

Within Potterworld, neutral Werewolves can be found at the Werewolf Shelter on the west side of Hogsend. Their aggressive counterpart can be sighted prowling about the barren coast northwest of Antrum, which lies along the northwest end of Great Britain. This spawn area resides in a taiga biome containing a variety of stone, barren spruce and oak trees with the occasional cobweb, bonfires, as well as broken down, wooden houses. Mainly Wolfsbane Lvl. 60 nodes can be found here.

Defeat

As a Level 68 mob, Werewolves have the chance of dropping Level 61-70 broom materials such as Gold Footholds, Rowan Handle, Cotton Handlewraps, and Twig Bristles. There is a rare chance of them dropping Lvl 61-70 Gear Pieces and an even rarer chance to drop Broom Recipes. Additionally, the mob drops exclusive Werewolf drops. These include Werewolf Bogie, Werewolf Bone, and Werewolf Claw, which can be used in crafting the following profession items: Dark Cocoacursed Delights VII, Charming Fizz Tea VII, Hijinx Mixture VII, and Cursed Brew VII.
