Overview

Centaurs are Level 65, aggressive mobs on Potterworld. They are famous primarily for their bodies: the torso, or the top half, is most similar to a human, while the body, or the bottom half, is like a horse. Despite their dual body types, Centaurs are actually their own separate species. While the fact that they are not human might lead the uneducated wizard to believe that they are of lesser intelligence, Centaurs are in fact very skilled, and most have talent in healing magic, astronomy, and divination.

While they have “human” intelligence, they remain classified as beasts by the Ministry of Magicians at their own request. Much like horses, Centaurs come in several colours and sizes. The most prominent tones are browns and blacks, but they come in white as well. Many witches and wizards come into contact with them during their time at Hogsworth, most notably in the quests Eyes on the Inside, Creature Collection, and Tainted Blood.

Behaviour and Defence

Centaurs are proud beings, and choose to take stock in naturistic items like their predecessors instead of modernising their tools. Their primary function is to hunt, and they carry around their bows and arrows while reading the signs that nature so readily presents them due to the years spent in the wilderness. Despite how easy it may be to classify them as herds of survivalist academics who roam the woods in search of nature’s essence, Centaurs are in fact quite territorial and will take up arms in an instant if the Ministry impedes on their land. They have a sense of honour, regardless, and so will not commit violence around or against young children unless they have been prodded into it.

It is, in some cases, inevitable that you should have to fight against the Centaurs. The task of fighting one is rare, especially considering they live in groups of ten to fifty, but if only facing one, you should only have 3125 HP to deplete. While their weapons may be primitive, their skills certainly are not, and in hand-to-hand combat, they deal 625 damage alone. When allowed to fire from a distance, these skilled hunters deal over 300 more damage, 937 damage in total with their bows. As Centaurs are widely renowned for their fighting prowess, it is best left for 7th and 8th-years to handle them, while lower years defend and heal from behind.

Habitat

Because of their ancient origins, it is hard to place precisely where the Centaurs first came to be. While several Auralocks have tried to draw it out of them, the Centaurs are a proud and mysterious group who prefer to keep their history to themselves. For now, all the Ministry knows is that there are swathes of provided safe forests for the Centaurs to live in so that witches and Centaurs can live in harmony, despite being separate.

On Potterworld, Centaurs can be found in the Dark Forest, southwest of Haggleton. Most of the time, if you search around their hunting grounds, there are outcroppings of Lunaplum Lvl. 60 plant nodes fresh for the picking.

Defeat

Upon defeat, Centaurs have a chance of dropping Gold Footholds, Rowan Handle, Cotton Handlewraps, and Twig Bristles as well as Centaur Blood, Centaur Hair, and Centaur Eyes. These ingredients can be used in profession items like the Charming Fizz Cakes VII, White Cocoacursed Tea VII, Transformation Tonic VII, and Charming Concoction VII, as well as crafting brooms. Centaurs also have a small chance of dropping random Lvl 61-70 Gear Pieces and Broom Recipes.
