Overview

Rena Ardere, leader of the Phoenix camp in the Deep Forest, mentions that the Dark Followers recently stole a very valuable herb called the Nocen’s Bliss from their camp. The Phoenixes require this herb to help a former member cursed into a Maledictus. Aid Rena by finding the herb and helping the Maledictus.

Quest Progression

To begin the quest, speak to the Rena NPC in the Phoenix Camp within the Deep Forest.

Dialogue

  • [1/6] Hello there and welcome to the Phoenix Camp, my name is Rena and I'm in charge of things around here.
  • [2/6] Please state your business. We have had Dark Followers inside our camp all too recently. I'm willing to let it slide this time though, there was a young girl that had gotten hurt in a previous fight and they just wanted our Nocen's Bliss to help her.
  • [3/6] Unfortunately, that was the last of our supply and we had our own reasons for needing it. You see, one of our members is a Maledictus.
  • [4/6] Her name is Ayla and she was born with a blood curse that causes her to transform into a snake against her will. We had hoped to use the Nocen's Bliss to cure her of this terrible curse. We can't seem to find more of the herb anywhere.
  • [5/6] There is perhaps one individual that may be able to help. His name is Akeros and he is a Centaur slightly more friendly to humans than his brethren. The Centaurs know this forest more than anyone and could help if they decide they want to.
  • [6/6] Centaurs are just confusing and I don't have the time to sort out Akeros' hidden messages with the Dark Follower threat. You can find Akeros near where the other Centaurs live, start by heading down the south path, and you should be able to find him. Do you think you could get help from the Centaurs to find the Nocen's Bliss and use it to cure Ayla?

Objective 1 - Speak to Akeros

Description

Locate Akeros the Centaur in the Deep Forest and speak to him about where to find more Nocen's Bliss. He can be found by following the south path outside the Phoenix Camp, and he will be near the other Centaurs.

Dialogue

  • [1/2] Behold, a visitor! Though I suspect you are another inquisitor in search of Nocen's Bliss to tame the mountain's hiss. Well, listen very close and I will soothe your woes.
  • [2/2] If you seek to evade the grave, within the Deep Forest lies a hidden glade. Ensure to tread carefully or you may receive a bite quite harsh as it’s defended by the creatures that lurk in the marsh.

Objective 2 - Locate the Nocen's Bliss

Description

"If you seek to evade the grave, within the Deep Forest lies a hidden glade. Ensure to tread carefully or you may receive a bite quite harsh as it’s defended by the creatures that lurk in the marsh."

Solve Akeros' Riddle and locate the Nocen's Bliss.

Objective 3 - Cure Ayla of her Blood Curse

Description

Locate the cave Ayla is hiding out in north-west of the Phoenix Camp near the Manticores, then battle her down until she is calm enough to use [1 Nocen's Bliss] to cure her of her blood curse.

Dialogue

  • [1/3] I'm sorry, I honestly thought you were here to hunt me. I can't control the transformations anymore and I'm better off out here on my own where I won't hurt anyone.
  • [2/3] You have... a cure? That exists? I- thank you! Thank you so much!
  • [3/3] I don't have much to offer, but I can grant you access to the Phoenix side of the tunnel so you can quickly travel between us and the Dark Followers. We use it for back-channel communication.

Tips

  • Akeros’ riddle may seem tricky, but look at it carefully, line by line. Look out for any landmarks that it may mention, as that is the key to solving the riddle.
  • Moving around while fighting Ayla is a great way to make sure she doesn’t hit you with too many of her attacks. If you stay in one place, you might find yourself in a tricky situation!
  • This quest unlocks another fast travel method.
