Overview

Haggleton is a little settlement deep within the forest to the west of Hogsworth. Haggleton’s story starts in 1967, when around one hundred Dark Followers flocked to Ireland with the goal of robbing food and building materials.

Tensions between alliances were high during this time. They would batter one another with raids against their weak defences. Even the Ministry of Magicians took part in this chaos and ended up losing a large number of general resources. The Dark Followers were dwindling away, their numbers rapidly falling day by day. Their ambush on the streets of Ireland was supposed to bring them back to their former glory, but when the Dark Followers were escaping with their goods, citizens of Ireland followed them to their ships.

When the Dark Followers realised they were being tailed, they fled the scene. In doing so, they lost over half of what they had acquired. The Irish citizens chased them across the waters and through the outskirts of the dark forest. The Dark Followers got separated from one another as they made their way through the forest and flung spells. Their numbers dwindled down to 20 by the time they came across a boulder that was able to be used as cover.

As they huddled behind a rock, they munched on some food they had with them. Contrary to their expectations, the Irish citizens never managed to find them. Even with no one pursuing them, the Dark Followers had little resources to survive. They managed to scrape together straw and wooden huts that they lived in until the end of their lives. As they had to haggle together with the small village under desperate measures, they named the town “Haggleton”.

Haggleton survived with the bare minimum resources, refusing to update or modernise the area, and remained under a democracy. However, ten of the Irish citizens who witnessed the attack refused to give up, searching every nook and cranny of the forest for 25 years.

They eventually stumbled upon Haggleton in 1992. The Irish citizens rummaged around the town while the Dark Followers were out collecting wood in preparation for an expected flood. They found multiple dark cloaks that confirmed the Dark Followers resided there. The Irish citizens set up an array of camps south-east of Haggleton, only a couple of minutes away by broom. They then had easy access to Haggleton with its lack of substantial defences, despite having half as many people as Haggleton.

Both of the groups attacked one another constantly, repeating the mistakes of the allegiances. This weakened both themselves and the opposing force. Haggleton and the campsite were both in constant need of repair. Eventually, the numerous battles along with starvation killed everyone off.

Today, Haggleton and the surrounding area is barren and abandoned. Humans are rarely spotted inhabiting the camp, however, a few campsites containing allegiance representatives have popped up in the area.

Those wishing to visit Haggleton can go southwest of Hogsworth, where they will find it nestled in the forest. Haggleton is a level 65 area and tends to be more suitable for higher-level players to explore. It is possible to walk or fly to Haggleton; after unlocking the area, players can use the Fire Dust Network to visit again. Those Haggleton will be able to visit a Shady Dealer, Vendor, Crafting Centre, Fire Dust Network, Marketplace, and will be able to access their Bank Vaults. The Haggleton Reputation taskboard and the Dueling Halls NPC can be found directly across from the Crafting Centre.

Geography & Environment

Haggleton is found deep within a forest of spruce trees. The trees are spaced closely together and can be difficult to navigate for those unfamiliar with the area. There’s a large amount of plant life surrounding the area and there is a small clearing where Haggleton is situated. Haggleton’s climate tends to be mild and temperate, not too warm and not too cold.

Notable Locations

Dark Follower Campsite

The Dark Follower Campsite is found near the Unicorns. This fortified campsite has a wooden wall surrounding it for protection. Inside are small, black tents with skulls scattered around the area.

Phoenix Campsite

The Phoenix Campsite lacks any defences, leaving them vulnerable to attacks from other allegiances. With only a handful of orange and red tents, the Phoenix camp is one of the smaller camps.

Auralock Campsite

The Auralock Campsite is one of the more sophisticated camps. Their wooden and blue tents are large and show the wealth backing the allegiance.

Magizoology Camp

The Magizoology Camp has a wooden wall surrounding it. The tents are white with green accents and have wood for sturdiness. The inside of the tents are more civilised than the others, with the decorations and utilities available making it clear they are planning to stay for a while.
