Overview

Vampires are Level 59, aggressive mobs on Potterworld. They are currently located in the Riddleyard Graveyard. However, they are quite powerful creatures that require decent gear and spells to defeat. Their exclusive mob drops are not required for any quests, but you may encounter them in the Relics of the Past Part III quest.

Vampires are dark creatures that live and breed among human populations. They are nearly indiscernible from humans, and can usually only be detected through certain circumstances. According to ancient myths, the first Vampire was most likely created out of a failed experiment on an Unmagical. It has been said that these experiments were attempted by a witch or wizard out of the desire to obtain eternal life. However, something went wrong and a curse was put on them instead which turned them into a Vampire. Vampires are dark and misunderstood creatures. Though terrifying, they are intelligent and canny. Amarillo Lestoat, a famous American Vampire, wrote a lengthy novel intended to bore his victims into a lull, making them easier to hunt. These creatures may live for centuries, but are usually killed before they die of old age. The only way to be certain that a Vampire is dead is to observe the running of a stake through its heart. If a moth emerges from the wound, the Vampire has died.

Behaviour & Defence

Upon entering the Riddleyard Graveyard, Vampires will begin to spawn and immediately attack a player due to their aggressive behaviour. Since this mob deals quite a bit of damage, it is important to keep a distance when trying to defeat it.

Vampires have a total of 2425 HP each. Their basic attack deals 485 damage and they have 3 special abilities known as bite, fang throw, and blood craze. After being hit with a spell, a Vampire will choose one of these three abilities to use against the player. Their bite attack causes a slash against a player and deals 727 damage. The Vampire may then charge up their fang throw and shoot out a missile causing 520 damage. Finally, this creature may choose to use their blood craze in order to sprint towards a player and attack them.

Multiple Vampires can spawn at once and all run towards a certain player. It can quickly become overwhelming, as they do deal quite a bit of damage. Having decent gear and spells is necessary to be able to survive and defeat these creatures.

Once turned into a Vampire, many unique properties are acquired. The first property is the requirement to drink blood to survive. There is no specific blood that they need to drink, yet, some claim that human blood is the most nourishing of all. Whether Vampires can find other sources of life is a matter of debate in the wizarding community. Secondly, Vampires are allergic to the sun. Sunlight causes burning and can permanently kill or maim a Vampire. Staying in well-lit places is an excellent deterrent against Vampire attacks. Thirdly, Vampires cannot stand garlic. While many witches and wizards merely dislike garlic, Vampires abhor it. Many individuals place garlic above their doorstep to ward off Vampires. Their fourth property is that Vampires can be killed in their sleep with a wooden stake driven through the heart. This risky technique is employed by Vampire Hunters, who enchant water and dip their stakes in it beforehand. Finally, commonly seen as the most important, the curse of Vampirism can be spread to others through a process of blood transfer. The Vampire will first drink the blood of its victim. If the victim then consumes the blood of the Vampire, the curse will spread through the victim’s body. The body may appear to be dead, but on the first full moon following the “death”, the body will rise as a Vampire.

Habitat

Vampires typically live in places where there are not high levels of sunlight, as they have an intense allergy to light. However, they have been most commonly seen in southeastern Europe. Since they are constantly being hunted by both Unmagical and magical humans, they prefer to conjugate in secluded or abandoned properties. Vampires also supposedly sleep in coffins to gather their dark magic and energy.

On Potterworld, Vampires can be found living in the secluded Riddleyard Graveyard right across from the Riddleyard Manor. Additionally, Wolfsbane Lvl. 50 plant nodes can be found around the graveyard.

Defeat

As a Level 59 mob, Vampires have the chance of dropping Level 51-60 broom materials as well as exclusive Vampire drops. These drops include Silver Footholds, Yew Handle, Wool Handlewraps, and Vine Bristles as well as Vampire Bone, Vampire Nail, and Vampire Bogie. Additionally, like most other types of mobs, they also have a rare chance of dropping Lvl 51-60 Gear Pieces and Broom Recipes. Materials such as Footholds, Handle, Handlewraps, and Bristles can play a part in crafting such recipes into brooms. The Vampire mob drops can be used to craft Dark Cocoacursed Delights VI, Charming Fizz Tea VI, Hijinx Mixture VI, and Cursed Brew VI, all of which are items from professions.
