Overview

Placed atop a tiny cliff, Tristmoor is a small town within a hollowed-out segment of Tristmoor Forest, at the end of a long, winding road. Notably, the main attractions of the town are the surrounding large variety of materials as well as its strange history.

In 1894, to explore the natural landscapes, a group of nine travellers ventured into the depths of the caves near Tristmoor. Within the caves, all of the adventurers gradually disappeared except for one, Limbrian Faltcue. The lone, traumatised explorer left in a hurry and founded Tristmoor near the caverns to investigate the vanishing of his friends. As more people investigated the site, they assumed that the disappearance was related to the many scratch marks visible in the stone of the walls in the cave. Nonetheless, no evidence was ever solidified and no solid conclusions were ever made. After years of curiously digging for clues, locals grew unmotivated and returned to advancing the lifestyle of Tristmoor. However, Faltcue continued to focus on the mystery for the majority of his lifetime. Currently, a small number of people still search for the reason behind the missing travellers. And, despite the heavy magical presence beneath the stones, some Unmagicals still live in the town to this day without knowledge of the conspiracies behind the caverns.

Surrounded by forests and farms, Tristmoor is fairly prosperous for independent workers. With the abundance of surrounding natural resources, the people of Tristmoor generally work as tradesmen, farmers, or own small businesses. Moreover, a popular service of the town is crafting theories about the scratched stones. These theories can be sold for bucks. Upon visiting, the locals of Tristmoor can seem a bit unfriendly. Visitors may find the locals to be not very talkative, but gladly accepting of their coin. Hence, nearby farms bring their food to this town for sale and export.

Tristmoor Co. was established by the town’s founder to entice people to move to Tristmoor. Today, it remains the largest employer in town. This company is known for trading the vast amount of resources available near Tristmoor all for a decent price, attracting many tourists. A lot of their employees explore the caves to gather resources to sell. And, sometimes, they even take it upon themselves to investigate the magical stones of the town and conduct research on them. Besides the work of the Tristmoor Co., the caves are off-limits to any passersby.

At night, the villagers often gather in the centre of the town and socialise. Each villager tends to stick to their favourite cafe or pub, and switching between any is almost unheard of. This continued attention to a specific business sparked Jacob Crumbrian to create Jacob’s Bakery. Since the people of Tristmoor are very much set in their ways, the success of Crumbrian’s shop came as a surprise to many. Yet, this success for Jacob’s Bakery is to be short-lived. Due to internal family feuds, Jacob’s son, Matthew, grew a rivalling bakery business, expanding to overpower his father’s and to gain full control of the town's baking industry. Things are looking grim for Jacob’s Bakery now; his business is failing and he is running out of money.

One of the most cherished events in the town is the New Moon Candle-Lighting. As the name implies, every new moon, just after sunset, the citizens of Tristmoor will all gather around the three stones on the west side of town for a candle-lighting ceremony. This has been done for years to celebrate the close bonds of the townsfolk. Interestingly, the stones come from the underground cavern that extends across the village. However, the ceremonies came to an end after some disturbances were detected from the stones. Upon some testing, it was realised that there was a disturbed, magical force emerging from within them. The force began reacting aggressively and unhappily to the townsfolk, causing destruction each ceremony, and destroying crops in the nearby farms or spoiling the food in their shops. No one knew what to do about the force or how to stop it. A few have connected the ceremony incidents back to the loss of the adventurers who explored the cave at the creation of the town, but no formal conclusion was made.

On Potterworld’s world map, Tristmoor can be found inland towards the southwestern side of Great Britain. As a level 35 town, players are meant to visit and unlock its location in their Year 4 quests by flying with a broom or walking from a nearby town, which is most often London, or wizarding residences, such as The Hovel or The Dwelling. From Tristmoor, these surrounding towns include Longbay Landing to the northwest and Wightwaye to the far east. To view it on the map, run the /map command in-game to get a link to it.

At Tristmoor, visiting players can expect to find a Crafting Centre, Fire Dust Network location, Marketplace, Bank, and Tommy Riddle. Unfortunately, there is no Shady Dealer, Vendor, or Minigames here. The Tristmoor Reputation taskboard is found outside of Tristmoor's Fire Dust Network house.

Geography & Environment

Built inland, Tristmoor has a predominantly mild climate. Being towards the southwestern end of Great Britain, this town is not prone to much severe weather. This town generally has fine weather as it is protected by the surrounding oak and spruce trees. Moreover, the nearby pools of water and rocky caverns contribute to the town’s livelihood.

Notable Locations

Tristmoor Caves

The most recognisable location nearby is the Tristmoor caves. With scratched stone walls, these caverns led to the founding of Tristmoor. Here, resources are gathered by Tristmoor Co. employees, and the magical stones are researched. Sadly, this is also where the original eight travellers mysteriously disappeared.

Throughout Tristmoor, there are a handful of hidden chests scattered about. To find them, one may need to look closely within houses and at nooks and crannies. They can range from Tier 1 to Tier 3 type chests, with the higher the tier being harder to find and with rarer loot. Upon finding a hidden chest, the player will also be rewarded with Gold occasionally.
