Overview

The small town of Wightwaye was founded by Cecilia Wightwaye in 1499. The architects of Edgebrook were hired to help build this small village capable of housing several families. Many years after the village was built, a terrible winter storm hit and resources became very scarce. As a result, Cecilia built an underground shelter where residents hid to try and get through the hard winter. Since Cecilia was able to use her Transformo, she risked her life to scavenge for resources in neighbouring towns. One day when Cecilia returned, a blizzard had covered the entrance to the shelter. She dug through the snow with her bare hands to try and get through; this caused her fingers to start falling off due to frostbite. After she cast a powerful spell to clear the area of snow, she died. Once the residents got out, they discovered her body outside. As a memorial, a statue was built of Cecilia Wightwaye holding her wand made of Poplar on top of the secret shelter.

Since the town is located by forests, the villagers are known to make wands that are often sold to famous wandmakers like Jollivan. Most adults work as lumberjacks and foragers.

The village has a “medieval” sense of culture. Mainly magicals populate the area, which means that villagers stray away from the use of modern technology. They are typically very friendly to new people who stop by the village and there are more men than women. The villagers of the town are good at sustaining themselves and therefore have not reported economic or natural suffering.

Players can find Wightwaye on the southern part of the map. The location can be visited at any level, but surrounding mobs are meant for players that are Level 30 and above. Flying on a broom is the best way to get to Wightwaye.

The Vendor, Crafting Centre, Tommy Riddle, and Bank can be found on the north side of town. On the east, players can find the Shady Dealer. The Marketplace can be found on the northwest outskirts of the town. Unfortunately, there is no Fire Dust Network in this location.

Geography & Environment

Being located next to a forest, Wightwaye can get very cold. There are often very harsh, snowy winters. The forests have a wide variety of trees including Spruce, Oak, and even Poplar, which are used in wands.

Upon finding a hidden chest, the player will also be rewarded with gold occasionally.
