Overview
Longbay Landing, often called “Longbay,” is a small village on the shore of the Bristol Channel. It lies along a common travel route, which makes this location a popular overnight spot for visitors from land or sea. Wrecker’s Inn is where visitors usually stay. The inn was named after pirates that originally controlled the coast around Longbay centuries before.
A large lighthouse was built there in 1960 by a non-magical government to promote potential tourism at Longbay. Locals take turns volunteering to take care of the lighthouse. The community is very close with one another, and they are very welcoming to travellers. Longbay Landing is located in a well-populated area of Britain, making resources like wood hard to get due to the competition with other places who also need them. Over time, some houses have not been repaired due to a shortage of building materials. Villagers become desperate for repairs before tourist season to make the town more appealing to visit.
Players can find Longbay Landing in the southwestern part of the map. The location can be unlocked at any level, but its surroundings are meant for players level 35 and above. The best way to access the location is by flying on a broom. Longbay Landing only has a Crafting Centre on the southeast side of town that can be accessed. This location does not have access to a Shady Dealer, Vendor, Fire Dust Network, Marketplace, Bank Vault, or a Tommy Riddle.
Geography & Environment
Longbay Landing is in a coastal region. The area itself does not have very many trees, but once an individual goes south-east, they will notice a lot of trees. Being a coastal area, Longbay can get a climate that is usually humid and warm.
Notable Locations
Lighthouse
The most notable location at Longbay is the lighthouse. The lighthouse was built to increase tourism. Lighthouse keepers are typically volunteer residents of Longbay. The lighthouse can be found in the northern part of the town. The front door is locked, but can be unlocked using the spell Avomora.
Quests
There are currently no quests that require players to go to Longbay Landing.
Creatures and Plants
There are two magical creatures found near Longbay Landing: Pitlucks and Sneelers. The Pitlucks can be found south of the town by the horse stables, but will not attack players unless provoked. The Sneelers can be found east of the town by farmland, but be careful, as they can be quite aggressive when approached. Players can find plant nodes around Longbay Landing. This includes level 30 Nightshade, Asphodel, Dittany, and Lunaplum. All of these plants can be used to craft Professions recipes.
Hidden Chests
There are no known hidden chest locations in Longbay Landing.
Trivia
- The innkeeper’s name is Hino Ayumi. She graduated from Hogsworth before moving to Longbay.
- There were several Japanese-themed events hosted here, which boosted tourism.
- The local librarian, Oliver Woodley, enjoys educating travellers about the town.
- There are only a few magicals living in Longbay Landing. Unmagicals make up a majority of the population here.
