Overview

Marley Hamilton offers you a stay in his expensive home, but he won't let you stay for free. He needs your help with quite a few tasks, as he is a very busy man. Think about your actions, as that is what Marley would want.

Quest Progression

To begin this quest, speak to Marley Hamilton, who is residing in his home in East Walden!

Dialogue

Before accepting

  • [1/3] You there! You seem lost.
  • [2/3] Welcome to East Walden. Quite a lovely little community, don't you think? Kept safe from the riffraff of West Walden, of course.
  • [3/3] How rude of me. You seem like you've been travelling for some time. How about you stay the night here?

After accepting

  • [1/3] You will? Wonderful!
  • [2/3] I was just about to get started making supper, but it seems I ran out of meat.
  • [3/3] I hate to ask, but could you head into West Walden, to the Butcher shop, and grab [1 Meat] while I prepare the rest of the meal? If needed, tell the Butcher I sent you, as he owes me a favour.

Objective 1 - Repay Marley for his kindness

Description

Repay Marley for his kindness by helping him prepare supper by obtaining [1 Meat] from the Butcher shop in West Walden. Then, return back to Marley.

Dialogue

  • [1/3] Ah, you're back I see. Thank goodness those miscreants didn't do anything to you.
  • [2/3] Well, that's the last thing we need, so supper is served!
  • [3/3] *Burp* That was a delightful meal. Why don't you head upstairs to the guest bedroom, and hit the hay? I'll talk to you in the mornin'.

Objective 2 - Get some sleep

Description

Head upstairs to the guest room and head to sleep. When you wake up, speak to Marley again.

Dialogue

  • [1/2] While this may be a dream with true freedom, real life is not the same.
  • [2/2] Be forewarned, as your actions have consequences.

Marley Hamilton

  • [1/3] Ah, wonderful day isn't it? You slept well, I assume?
  • [2/3] I hate to ask, but you DID stay at my house. Could you help some of my neighbours around here?
  • [3/3] There may be a few, but to settle our debt, you'll only have to help two, so choose carefully.

Objective 3 - Help the Townspeople of East Walden

Description

Wander around to find townspeople of East Walden who may need help. Once you help 2 people, return to Marley. After this, evict Cleo in West Walden. Note: Although there may be more, you only can help 2 townspeople.

Dialogue

Emelia Grant

  • [1/3] Hey there! I was wondering if you could help me with my boat?
  • [2/3] I love fishing, heck, I even give the fish I catch to the folks on the other side of town for free, but my darn boat won't start.
  • [3/3] Are you willing to help me?

Samuel Grant

  • [1/3] You there! You willing to help me out?
  • [2/3] The hedges all over here are just overgrowing- we're starting to look like West Walden!
  • [3/3] Are you willing to help trim some of the hedges around here?

Coby Lowe

  • [1/3] Oy! You're looking like you need some work.
  • [2/3] I'm in charge of the power that runs to most of the houses in West Walden, and, well, some of them haven't paid their power bills on time.
  • [3/3] All I ask is that you head over into town and shut off the power of three houses. Shouldn't be too hard. What do you say?

Marley Hamilton after completing two tasks

  • [1/4] I heard from the neighbours that you helped them out, quite well actually. Well done.
  • [2/4] Now, one more thing, one small little favour...
  • [3/4] You see, I'm the landlord of several of the houses in West Walden, and a woman by the name of Cleo Burke hasn't paid her bills.
  • [4/4] Last thing I ask of you- head over there and evict her. I don't care what needs to be done. Money is money, and she hasn't paid!

Cleo Burke

  • [1/4] What's that? You were sent by Marley? To evict me?
  • [2/4] I almost have enough gold. I was so close this month!
  • [3/4] Look, you don't want to kick me out, do you?
  • [4/4] I know this is asking a lot, but if you paid 500 gold- my outstanding balance, you wouldn't have to evict me. Please. I beg you. Please?

Paying rent for Cleo

  • [1/3] Really? You're a saviour! Thank you!
  • [2/3] I'll make sure I find some way to repay you for your kindness. In the meantime, would you help out some of the other townsfolk? Even if you just help out two, that would be huge.
  • [3/3] We're not as evil as those in East Walden make us out to be. They continue to leverage their wealth over us to keep us in check. Perhaps you could help break the chain.

Evicting Cleo

  • [1/3] Very well. I see how it is.
  • [2/3] You know, we're not bad people, right? East Walden just has all of the richer folk. The rest of us have to wrestle for the scraps.
  • [3/3] Very well, I'll get my bags ready. In the meantime, could you find it in your shrivelled heart to help out at least two of the other townsfolk? You know, while you're "down here" with the riffraff?

Objective 4 - Help the Townspeople of West Walden

Description

Wander around to find the townspeople of West Walden who may need help. Once you help enough people, return to Cleo. Note: Although there may be more, you only can help 2 townspeople.

Dialogue

Maisy Ward - before accepting

  • [1/2] I.... I am quite weak. I've been waiting for my medicine for a few days now.
  • [2/2] Could you head over to the mailbox and check for it?

Maisy Ward - after accepting

  • [1/1] They'll be a lot of packages. You're looking for the large, rectangular, lightweight, orange package. Once you got it, return to me.

Returning to Maisy Ward

  • [1/1] Ah, that's the package! Thank you, dearie. I suppose you should be helping the others now.

Axel Stewart -before accepting

  • [1/2] You look pretty good, mate!
  • [2/2] A few of my pals and I were gonna break into one of the crypts around these houses. Loot some stuff. You in?

Axel Steward - after accepting

  • [1/1] Sounds good. I'll round up my mates and meet you there, a bit east from here. You can go ahead first, we'll be right behind you!

Returning to Axel Steward

  • [1/3] Oh- I was just about to head over there.
  • [2/3] Nothing interesting down there? You've gotta be kidding me!
  • [3/3] Shame, isn't it. Guess you better be helping the others. Why did you even want to help me in the first place?

Eduard Francis - before accepting

  • [1/2] You there, stranger! Have a moment?
  • [2/2] I'm headed to work, but can you check on a delivery for me? Nothing illegal, I swear.

Eduard Francis - after accepting

  • [1/2] Ah, you are? Awesome.
  • [2/2] Head over to the phone booth, and then dial-up 736-555-2672. See what they have to say about a delivery of produce to Eduard Francis.

Returning to Eduard Francis

  • [1/2] They're on their way, and it'll be here by midday? Score!
  • [2/2] Thanks again. Maybe you aren't so bad after all. Now go help the others.

Returning to Cleo Burke (paid)

  • [1/3] You're back! I'm already hearing whispers about your deeds. You're making a difference in town.
  • [2/3] In fact, the Mayor stopped by a bit ago, said he wanted to talk to you. Go ahead and find him, he shouldn't be too far.
  • [3/3] Thank you again for your kindness. I hope you can see that we're not just gross rats the folks in East Walden make us out to be.

Returning to Cleo Burke (evicted)

  • [1/2] Well, you're back. Guess I'll be heading out then.
  • [2/2] If you could, could you let the mayor know that I'm leaving? He shouldn't be too far from here.

Tips

  • It is very helpful to remember where each NPC is throughout the quest, as you will have to return to many of the same NPCs to complete the tasks and objectives!
