Overview

Gnollberg Port has a mayoral election coming up. Help local business owner Evan Chalice run against other competitors!

Quest Progression

You can start this quest by talking to Evan Chalice at Gnollberg Port.

Dialogue

  • [1/3] Hi there! Are you a caring citizen interested in aiding the democratic process? ...Or are you just here for a cup of coffee?
  • [2/3] Well that's great! Because the election is coming up and I'm running for Mayor of Gnollberg Port. Do you think you could help me by putting a few flyers up around town?
  • [3/3] Really? You will? Fantastic! Well, while you're at it, maybe you could... gather some information on the other candidates? I'd like you to please hang a flyer by each candidate. They should just be standing outside of their homes advertising their campaign, in plain sight. If you lose a flyer, just come get more. I have plenty.

Objective 1 - Hang flyers around town and return to Evan

Description

Go around Gnollberg Port placing the flyers that Evan Chalice gave you. He would like flyers hung next to each candidate, who are at their houses around town advertising their campaigns in plain sight. After you finish, return to Evan for further instruction.

Dialogue

Ivan Polier

  • [1/2] Why hello there! My name is Ivan Polier. I was born and raised right here in Gnollberg Port, in this very house!
  • [2/2] My plan is to turn Gnollberg Port into a wildly successful trading centre once again! I know that you'll make the right choice on election day. And, the right choice... is me!

Stephanie Bloques

  • [1/3] Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to get in your way…
  • [2/3] Oh, you wanted to talk to me? About the election? That's great! Well, I have to admit things don't look very good for me. People here don't like an out-of-towner.
  • [3/3] Anyways, I'm just trying to stand up for the little guy in the magical world. I want to fight for people who aren't normal. After all, I'm not! I didn't even know how to do magic until 8 years ago.

Jerrick Tomes

  • [1/3] Ayyy, what's good? You thinking about voting in the upcoming election? Well, you should vote for me!
  • [2/3] I'm trying to make a difference where it truly matters. I'm from London originally. Ya know, the big city!
  • [3/3] Trust me, I know what to do to make this city amazing. Trust in Jerrick Tomes!

Emiliah Yiles

  • [1/3] Oy! Hello there! Name's Emiliah Yiles!
  • [2/3] I'm runnin' for mayor o' this fine town here!
  • [3/3] Tryin' to make this city more friendly for local businesses. No more big importing and exporting from the big city. Let's support small businesses!

Evan Chalice

  • [1/4] Well, none of that information is particularly useful... Thanks anyways, I suppose.
  • [2/4] I have to confess, there is a reason I made you go through all that. I have reason to believe one of the candidates is corrupt and planning to tamper with the election.
  • [3/4] I am not quite sure who it is. Do you think you could look through some of the candidates' houses to see if there is any evidence to determine who the corrupt one is?
  • [4/4] Maybe looking in the Town Hall would also be a good idea...

Objective 2 - Search the Town for evidence & turn in the criminal to the Mayor

Description

Search the town for evidence to accuse a mayoral candidate of corruption. Bring your evidence & your accusation to the Mayor, and then return to Evan to tell him of your success.

Dialogue

Mayor

  • [1/2] Ah, yes! Evan Chalice told me you would be coming to hand me some evidence accusing one of our mayoral candidates of corruption.
  • [2/2] Well, who do you think it is? I'll need to see the evidence, as well.

If incorrect

  • [1/2] Thank you so much for your assistance! I will make sure this person is removed from the race immediately.
  • [2/2] Evan told me he has something important to tell you. I would go see what he needs.

Evan Chalice

  • [1/3] Oh thank god you’re here. I have reason to believe that it wasn’t…
  • [2/3] What?! That’s the person who you told the mayor about, and now they’re out of the race for good?
  • [3/3] Oh, this is not good… Not good at all! We can tell the mayor the truth, but the press will never get over this. And the corrupt candidate is still at large! If only there was a way to turn back time and try again...

If correct

  • [1/3] You think you can just walk in here and accuse a mayoral candidate of corruption?
  • [2/3] That's ludicrous! I'm taking you downstairs. You'll answer for this there.
  • [3/3] Well, what are you waiting for? Get down here. Now. The painting behind me takes you down.

Objective 3 - Bring evidence of corruption to Evan Chalice

Description

Defeat Jerrick Tomes and Mayor Amerie Stanton, and bring the crate of letters containing evidence of their corruption to Evan Chalice.

Dialogue

  • [1/3] WHAT?! The mayor was working with Jerrick Tomes the entire time?!
  • [2/3] That's unbelievable! You uncovered their entire plan! And these letters will prove everything. I'll bring them straight to the authorities!
  • [3/3] I cannot thank you enough for this... maybe I do have a shot at this election, after all! Well, I suppose I'll give you this. It's the least I can do after all you've done for me.

Tips

  • Pay attention to all evidence, and make your decision on who is corrupt very wisely. If you get it wrong, you have to gather all of your evidence again!
