Overview
Captain Conrad explains that the Auralocks have set up camp to make negotiations with the Centaurs. He is disappointed that the Centaurs have rejected their offers and wishes they would be willing to work with the wizarding government. Find the Centaurs and attempt to successfully negotiate with them on behalf of the Auralocks.
Quest Progression
To begin this quest, speak to the Captain Conrad NPC in the Deep Forest. He can be found at the Auralock Camp.
Dialogue
- [1/7] Welcome back, thank you for your assistance in arresting that spy. Thankfully, the Deep Forest has been at peace since!
- [2/7] This means the Auralocks are now able to focus our attention on the other reason we are in the Deep Forest.
- [3/7] The Deep Forest is inhabited by Centaurs. Their role in magical politics is... complicated.
- [4/7] They have currently opted to be classified by the Ministry as "creatures" along with things such as Dragons or Manticores. Though this doesn't quite make sense as they have above-human intelligence.
- [5/7] We want to begin involving them in wizarding politics and negotiate moving them into the "being" status, which would give them say in our government.
- [6/7] However, the Centaurs have not been receptive and are simply attacking us for 'invading' their forest.
- [7/7] I believe you have met Akeros though, the one Centaur that is most open to working with wizards. Would you be willing to deliver [1 Letter of Negotiation] to him so that we may begin to work together?
Objective 1 - Give Akeros the Letter of Negotiation
Description
Take the [1 Letter of Negotiation] given to you by Conrad to Akeros the Centaur in the Deep Forest.
Dialogue
- [1/4] Back again so soon for more? When will humans learn that Centaurs are not their slaves... No. I am not interested in making amends with the Auralocks.
- [2/4] Though perhaps I will read the letter if you can assist me in return. As a Centaur, I do not make decisions without consulting the stars. I, however, do not have all the required components for a divination ritual.
- [3/4] To ascend into the stars, I require a plant from the deepest depths. It is found in a clearing within the woods. Among those who croon as they devour their prey.
- [4/4] Return this item to me and we shall see about your letter.
Objective 2 - Retrieve the Components for the Divination Ritual
Description
Determine which magical plant Akeros needs for his divination ritual, then return it to him.
Dialogue
- [1/2] Thank you for retrieving this. I now have the component I need to consult the stars.
- [2/2] Are you ready to begin the ritual?
Objective 3 - Begin the Divination Ritual
Description
Speak to Akeros to begin the divination ritual.
Dialogue
- [1/2] I forget that you are new to the art of divination. The stars do not simply give us the answers, we must look for them.
- [2/2] Locate [4 Star], then align the stars within the crystal ball. Only once this is complete will we receive the information we seek.
Objective 4 - Align the Stars
Description
Align the stars by locating [4 Star] and placing them inside the crystal ball. Then, speak to Akeros.
Dialogue
- [1/2] The stars have spoken to me. Centaurs will begin negotiations with the Ministry of Magicians.
- [2/2] Now, return to Captain Conrad and inform him that I have received his letter and would be open to meeting with him.
Objective 5 - Return to Captain Conrad
Description
Return to Conrad to inform him of Akeros' willingness to begin negotiations with the Auralocks.
Dialogue
- [1/1] You did it! You got the Centaurs to agree to meet with us! The Ministry appreciates your assistance.
Tips
- If you are having trouble finding Akeros, you can find him with the rest of the Centaurs. You can use the command /map in-game to find the coordinates to the Centaurs.
- Be careful when searching for the plant, for those who coon when they devour their pray are also skilled venomous creatures that fly at terrifying speeds.
- Reading the Stars is part of a questline. You can not start this quest until you complete Plant Protection Program.
