Overview
Bethany Bernauer notes that there was another Unmagical that managed to get out of the Horned Snake lair. He is traumatised and is screaming about demon snakes kidnapping him. She asks you to talk to the priest as he normally obliviates Unmagicals that come in contact with magic.
Quest Progression
To begin the quest, speak to the Bethany Bernauer NPC, who is residing in her home in Griffin’s Hollow.
Dialogue
- [1/4] Good to see you're still in one piece. Some crazy Unmagical named Theodore Bailey just came running through the streets.
- [2/4] He was screaming about demon snakes, which I'm guessing are the same ones you were fighting.
- [3/4] I'm pretty sure the priest has been trying to obliviate him... but clearly there are some issues.
- [4/4] Why don't you head to the church and make sure he gets obliviated before we're exposed to the Unmagicals living here in Griffin's Hollow?
Objective 1 - Speak to the Priest
Description
Speak to the priest inside of the church.
Dialogue
- [1/5] You're a new face! I'm Father Jacob and I have the very unfortunate task of dealing with Unmagicals that are exposed to magic.
- [2/5] I'm having quite a bit of trouble with Theodore Bailey as someone has taken the Chalice of Oblivion.
- [3/5] Oh, I forgot that you aren't from around here- it's an enchanted cup that wipes the memory of the drinker.
- [4/5] The amount of liquid drunk from the chalice is equivalent to the amount of memory lost. The obliviate spell, on the other hand, can be unreliable and hard to master.
- [5/5] Do you think you could look around for clues as to who took the chalice? My eyes aren't what they used to be.
Objective 2 - Investigate the Scene
Description
Look around the church for clues, then show them to Father Jacob.
Dialogue
- [1/2] Strange footprints and fur? It sounds as if our thief is a magical creature!
- [2/2] Ms. Kneazler is our resident creature-expert. Why don't you see if she can figure out what took the chalice?
Objective 3 - Speak to Ms. Kneazler
Description
Tell Ms. Kneazler about the evidence in order to figure out what type of creature stole the Chalice.
Dialogue
- [1/5] Hello again! I am so glad you were able to save those beautiful embersnakes.
- [2/5] Oh! A creature has stolen the Chalice of Oblivion? I bet I can figure out which one.
- [3/5] Hmm... Padded footprints... Brown fur... I got it! Our thief is definitely a Garvi!
- [4/5] The Garvies have a lair not far from Griffin's Hollow. It is on a hillside along the river running east out of the town.
- [5/5] If you get to the bottom of their base and defeat the right Garvi, I'm sure you'll get it back easy peasy.
Objective 4 - Retrieve the Chalice of Oblivion
Description
Retrieve [1 Chalice of Oblivion] by defeating a Garvi at the bottom of the Garvi Lair just outside Griffin's Hollow.
Objective 5 - Obliviate Theodore Bailey
Description
Have Theodore Bailey drink from [1 Chalice of Oblivion] in order to erase the wizarding world from his memory.
Dialogue
- [1/4] The snakes! The snakes are coming! Please help me!
- [2/4] The demon snakes! The- okay fine I'll drink it.
- [3/4] Uh, where am I? How did I get here?
- [4/4] Isn't that Father Jacob's special cup? I can go give it to him and see if he knows what's going on!
Tips
- The Chalice of Oblivion is part of a quest line. If you do not complete this quest, you will not be able to do Ghost Busters!
