Overview

Father Jacob is furious that Peter the Poltergeist has used his cannon to reveal ghosts to all Unmagicals in Griffin's Hollow. You’ll need to determine how to reverse the situation and alter Peter's cannon to stop him!

Quest Progression

To begin this quest, speak to Father Jacob inside the church in Griffin's Hollow!

Dialogue

  • [1/4] Peter made ghosts visible to all Unmagicals in Griffin's Hollow? And that darn poltergeist got you to help him do it?! This is a disaster and the wizarding world could be exposed!
  • [2/4] First, we need to find a way to make ghosts invisible to Unmagicals again.
  • [3/4] I have an idea. Take my toolset and use it to reverse engineer the cannon. Then once you set it off, it will have the opposite effect and will make ghosts invisible to Unmagicals again.
  • [4/4] Given that you helped create this situation, are you willing to help fix it?

Objective 1 - Alter Peter’s Cannon

Description

Use the tools given to you by Father Jacob to reverse the effects of Peter's cannon in the secret hideout beneath the church.

Dialogue

  • [1/1] You managed to make them invisible again...? No matter! The damage has been done and Unmagicals know of our existence!

Objective 2 - Return to Father Jacob

Description

Speak to Father Jacob in the church to determine what to do next.

Dialogue

  • [1/6] It worked! The ghosts are invisible to Unmagicals again. However, the Unmagicals still remember seeing the ghosts.
  • [2/6] There are too many Unmagicals for me to use the Chalice of Oblivion on each and every one of them. However, I have an idea.
  • [3/6] Swooping Death Venom has the power to erase bad memories. We can use that to erase the memory of the Unmagicals. However, this venom may also cause harm to Unmagicals.
  • [4/6] If we dilute the venom, it may safely erase the memories of the Unmagicals of Griffin's Hollow! Phoenixes possess magical healing capabilities, so perhaps Phoenix dung could work.
  • [5/6] Take this [1 Swooping Death Venom] and combine it with [8 Phoenix Dung] from the Phoenixes in the mountains to the west of Griffin's Hollow to make [1 Diluted Swooping Death Venom].
  • [6/6] Return to me once you've done this and I'll explain the next step of the plan.

Objective 3 - Craft Diluted Swooping Death Venom

Description

Gather [8 Phoenix Dung] from the Phoenixes in the mountains to the west of Griffin's Hollow, then combine them with [1 Swooping Death Venom] in Father Jacob's crafting table to create [1 Diluted Swooping Death Venom].

Dialogue

  • [1/3] Very nice, this [1 Diluted Swooping Death Venom] will work perfectly for my plan.
  • [2/3] If you fly over Griffin's Hollow and pour venom into the rain clouds, the next time it rains each and every Unmagical will have their memory wiped.
  • [3/3] Are you ready to begin flying?

Objective 4 - Create Venom Rain

Description

Speak to Father Jacob to fly above Griffin's Hollow and use [1 Diluted Swooping Death Venom] to pour venom into each of the rain clouds.

Dialogue

  • [1/3] You did it! You planted the Swooping Death Venom in the rain clouds!
  • [2/3] It drizzled a bit while you were up there and Griffin's Hollow has returned to its normal self, with Unmagicals blissfully unaware of the magical world.
  • [3/3] Shame on you for being fooled by Peter... but I owe you many thanks for your assistance in fixing this situation.

Tips

  • There will be a short time limit when reverse engineering Peter’s cannon, so make sure you work as quickly as possible!
  • It may be useful to fly through the clouds slowly to ensure you don’t accidentally fly past one of the rain cloud locations.
  • If you were unable to find all 10 rain cloud locations on your first try, try flying through the course backwards and keeping a close eye for hidden areas inside the clouds!
  • The prior level quest, Pet Peeves, provides more context behind this quest.
