Overview
The Fat Lady is missing from her portrait at the Griffin Common Room! Solve the mystery of her disappearance in the hopes to return her to her post.
Quest Progression
Speak to Basically Beheaded Benjamin outside of the Griffin Common Room to begin this quest.
Dialogue
- [1/4] Oh- you there! I need some help immediately.
- [2/4] The Fat Lady is no longer inside of her portrait and Griffin students can't get into their common room!
- [3/4] If we look around, we may be able to find some clues as to why she left.
- [4/4] Are you willing to help out figure out why she left and how to get her back?
Objective 1 - Examine the Fat Lady’s Portrait
Description
The Fat Lady is no longer in her portrait! Examine the empty portrait to look for clues.
Objective 2 - Locate the Fat Lady
Description
Find the Fat Lady to discover why she is no longer in her portrait. She enjoys the company of a certain Droobledore painting at the Grand Staircase.
Dialogue
- [1/4] Please leave me alone, I most certainly will not be returning to my portrait.
- [2/4] This disgusting creature came and nearly burned my entire portrait down!
- [3/4] I bet it was one of the Grounds Keeper's "pets". Oh how I wish I could go down there and give him a piece of my mind.
- [4/4] Actually, you can do that for me. Go find out what he did and fix it please. His hut lies west of the castle just over the wooden bridge.
Objective 3 - Speak to the Grounds Keeper
Description
A dangerous magical creature is roaming the halls of Hogsworth! The Grounds Keeper may have an idea on which creature it could be and how to get rid of it. His hut lies west of the castle just over the wooden bridge.
Dialogue
- [1/6] There's a fiery creature running 'round the Griffin tower?
- [2/6] Er, one of my Fire-Breathing Salamanders got loose the other night and I figured he'd just come back home.
- [3/6] I guess he could've started a nest up at the top of the tower...
- [4/6] Gettin' rid of the Fire-Breathing Salamander should be easy enough, but I do need to do something polite for the Fat Lady. She's probably not very happy.
- [5/6] Maybe she'd appreciate it if we cooked her up a scone? I've got all the needed ingredients in my hut. I've got [1 Flour], [1 Milk], and [1 Blueberry] layin' around. Use those ingredients to bake [1 Scone] in my oven.
- [6/6] Why don't you go ahead and get cookin'? She isn't going to return to that portrait without a bit of prompting.
Objective 4 - Cook a Scone
Description
Locate [1 Flour], [1 Milk], and [1 Blueberry] in the Grounds Keeper's Hut. Then, bake [1 Scone] and show it to the Grounds Keeper once it is complete.
Objective 5 - Return the Fat Lady to her Portrait
Description
Confront the Fire-Breathing Salamanders in the Griffin Tower and collect [1 Fire-Breathing Salamander Skin]. Then give the scale as well as [1 Scone] to the Fat Lady hiding in the Great Hall Droobledore painting to convince her to return to her portrait.
Dialogue
- [1/3] Ugh finally that thing is gone. I am not pleased though. That Grounds Keeper had better not let any more of those things terrorize our castle.
- [2/3] Oh- what's this? A scone? Well, I suppose the Grounds Keeper doesn't have bad intentions…
- [3/3] I will return to my painting now. Thank you for your assistance with this.
Tips
- Cooking is a very valuable skill on Potterworld. Use this quest as a way to practice this profession.
- You can find the Griffin Common Room on the seventh floor of the castle. It is located down the hall, behind the Fat Lady Portrait.
