Overview
Bethany Bernauer is happy to open her home to travellers and offers for you to spend a night in her home. However, she warns you not to leave your bed after dark as Griffin's Hollow residents keep disappearing. Spend the night in her home and solve the mystery behind the disappearances.
Quest Progression
To begin the quest, speak to the Bethany Bernauer NPC, who is residing in her home in Griffin’s Hollow.
Dialogue
- [1/4] Hello again, thank you so much for helping me out.
- [2/4] Wait, don't go yet! Why don't you stay with me while you're in Griffin's Hollow?
- [3/4] It would be nice to have someone around the house now that my sister...
- [4/4] I'm sorry, why don't you just head upstairs and get settled in. That is, if you would like to stay?
Objective 1 - Make Yourself At Home
Description
Go to the upstairs bedroom in Bethany Bernauer's house to get settled in.
Objective 2 - Report to Bethany
Description
Tell Bethany about the strange occurrence.
Dialogue
- [1/3] A strange female voice? That room once belonged to my sister.
- [2/3] I suppose there is a chance that she is now a ghost.
- [3/3] I wonder why she didn't try to contact me... You should go investigate.
Objective 3 -Solve the Riddle
Description
"Come Find us at the barrow and you will be harrowed. But we must be unfettered, please cut our tethers!"
Dialogue
- [1/4] Thank you for finding us. There has obviously been some big mistake. We have lives to continue and we don't belong... down here.
- [2/4] We need you to help us figure out what happened and how to undo it!
- [3/4] Each of us remembers bits and pieces of what happened before we woke up here. I remember seeing some smoke before everything went dark.
- [4/4] Others will have more information.
Objective 4 - Gather Information
Description
Speak to the ghosts in order to gather information about the killer.
Dialogue
- [1/3] Thank you for coming, I need whatever did this to pay for what they took from me.
- [2/3] It came up from behind me and bit my leg, leaving behind a fang. I was able to place a tracking charm on it before I died.
- [3/3] It is somewhere around here, but I can't pick it up as a ghost. Please use it to find the killer and get revenge for us.
Objective 5 - Find the Killer
Description
Use the tracking charm on the fang to locate and confront the killer!
Dialogue
- [1/3] Quick! We need to get out of here!
- [2/3] Actually give me a second, I'm feeling a bit light-headed... It's coming back to me...
- [3/3] Please just let the other ghosts know it was these Emberskins that did it. See if you can find a way to prevent anyone from ending up like this.
Objective 6 - Give the Ghosts Closure
Description
Give the ghosts closure by returning to the graveyard and speaking to Brittany Bernauer.
Dialogue
- [1/2] You think we were killed by Emberskins? I thought you were here to help us instead of spread lies.
- [2/2] There has to be a mistake, I shouldn't be dead. Don't you dare leave until you fix this!
Tips
- Finding Closure is part of a quest line. In order to start this quest, you must first complete Adorning the Grave. You cannot progress through the quest line without finishing this quest.
