Overview
Iona dropped her mother’s beloved necklace into the Edgebrook Well and needs your help to retrieve it. Though, the secrets which the depths of the Well hide will make this journey more than just peculiar.
Quest Progression
To begin the quest, speak to the Iona NPC near the well in Edgebrook.
Dialogue
- [1/2] My necklace fell down into the well. It is my mothers necklace, passed down to me. I can't afford to lose it.
- [2/2] Do you mind helping me out?
Objective 1 - Swim down the well and collect the necklace
Description
Iona dropped her necklace into the deep well. Swim to the very bottom and retrieve it for her.
Dialogue
- [1/6] What are you doing down here? It's been ages since I've seen anyone... let alone a child in this forbidden space!
- [2/6] You're looking for a necklace? Well, I suppose I did see something shimmering in the water...
- [3/6] If you help me with my research, I'll go find the necklace for you.
- [4/6] I'm examining these blue crystals. I have no idea what they are and what they're capable of. We'll need a Research Kit to fully study and evaluate their magical properties - if it has any of course.
- [5/6] You'll need to gather [1 Parchment Paper], [1 Magnifying Glass] and [1 Magical Pen]. You can find these in the Shady Dealer's shop, in the attic. Once you have the materials, craft [1 Research Kit] at the crafting table behind me.
- [6/6] Once you have the Research Kit, use it to study [3 Blue Crystals] around the cave. Return to me once you have sufficient results.
Objective 2 -Craft Alberto a research kit and study the Blue Crystals
Description
You should help Alberto study the mysterious blue crystals. Gather [1 Parchment Paper], [1 Magnifying Glass] and [1 Magical Pen] from the Shady Dealer's shop attic. Return to the cave and study [3 Blue Crystals], then share your results with Alberto.
Dialogue
- [1/4] Hm, looking at the research you have gathered, I can formulate an evaluation on the magical properties of this mysterious material.
- [2/4] A theory I have come up with is that the Blue Crystals are vulnerable to fire.
- [3/4] Go ahead and test that out for me. I have left a flint and steel by the giant Blue Crystal blocking the exit to the cave.
- [4/4] Whilst you're off doing that, I'll go find that necklace of yours. Return to me once you've tested my theory.
After testing crystals
- [1/3] My theory is correct? Fantastic!
- [2/3] This is truly marvellous, thank you for assisting me with my research. Here's your necklace; I found it washed up on the rocks!
- [3/3] Farewell for now, may we meet again.
Objective 3 -Return to Iona and give her back her necklace
Description
This cave can be used as a way to quickly travel between Edgebrook and Tristmoor. Alberto also has been holding onto Iona's necklace, best to head back and return it to her.
Dialogue
- [1/4] My necklace, you found it!
- [2/4] An old man? Living in a cave under the well? Did you hit your head on the way down?
- [3/4] Anyway, thank you for helping me. Here's a small reward for your efforts.
- [4/4] Also, I've heard that the caves down there connect to Tristmoor. Feel free to jump in and use them whenever!
Tips
- Look around the whole cave for three sparkling crystals to investigate. You may miss them at first, so search well.
- This quest unlocks another fast travel method.
