Overview
Prisoner and Ex-Unspeakable Shauna Heriches has been losing time. She needs you to help her figure out why and put a stop to it!
Quest Progression
To begin the quest, speak to the Shauna Heriches NPC in The Dark Prison. She can be found within her cell.
Dialogue
- [1/5] Oh! You're the one who's been roaming around here like you own the place, right?
- [2/5] Well hello there, my name is Shauna Heriches and I need your help. I was imprisoned here about a month ago for stealing ministry research from the Department of Mysteries. Only thing is, I can't remember doing it!
- [3/5] No clue what was stolen, either. What I do know is that I've been losing time. Every now and then, I'll blink and suddenly it's hours later and I have no clue what I did. The biggest gap was when I was arrested.
- [4/5] I have no idea what's wrong with me, but I think I know a solution. They say there's a healer on the 1st floor. She uses dark magic to heal people, that's why she's stuck here.
- [5/5] If you could seek her out, maybe she has some idea of how to help me. You will have to find a way to pass the guards, though... Maybe there is something lying around to help you look more like a guard?
Objective 1 - Search for the Healer
Description
Locate a guards uniform to blend in without looking suspicious. Then, search the floor for a magical healer known for her unorthodox methods of curing unusual ailments.
Dialogue
- [1/5] Why yes, I am the healer. Ridiculously imprisoned here by some insane rule about using dark magic. What I do is helpful! I'm using dark magic for good! UGH!
- [2/5] Anyways... Yes, your friend's condition sounds very serious. Luckily for you, I do have an idea as to what's going on. It's not medical.
- [3/5] Less commonly known than the Imperium curse is an un-named and immensely powerful form of it that can be cast from anywhere and allows long-term control without the victim remembering anything.
- [4/5] It is immensely difficult to cast and even more so to stop but there is a way. The spell to stop it requires foci to enhance the incantation. I'll require [1 Black Lotus] and [1 Sea Pearl]. These can probably be obtained from somewhere like the Guard's Lounge.
- [5/5] I'll also require [1 Gold Rod] and a personal belonging of your friend's. You can probably get a rod from Hugo. His cell is on this floor, and he specializes in contraband items. Somehow, the guards just don't do anything about all his stuff. Don't ask.
Objective 2 - Collect the spell foci for Eva
Description
Collect spell foci for Eva's incantation from various locations in the prison. The [1 Black Lotus] and [1 Sea Pearl] will likely be found in the Guard's Lounge. Something personal of Shauna's will be in her cell and Hugo on the 1st floor will have the final material.
Dialogue
First time speaking to Hugo
- [1/3] You want a what from Hugo? A gold rod? Big joke.
- [2/3] Find something worth Hugo's time. Then, Hugo will consider.
- [3/3] Check around Guard's Lounge. Yes, Hugo thinks this is good idea.
After retrieving an object Hugo wants
- [1/2] Wand?! You find working wand?!
- [2/2] Yes, very much this is worth Hugo's gold rod!
Returning to Eva
- [1/2] You got it?! Unbelievable! Hugo practically sleeps on that gold rod! How did you...
- [2/2] You know what? Nevermind. Let's just perform the incantation. Set up the foci around the room, and then I'll need your wand for the incantation.
Speaking to Eva after setting up the foci
- [1/3] Excellent work! Your friend should be cured, now. Additionally, I've located the caster. They are right here in The Dark Prison, on the top floor.
- [2/3] I would strongly advise dealing with them. Otherwise, they will simply resume controlling your friend once they have recovered their strength.
- [3/3] The top floor is quite guarded, but with your disguise you should be fine. From what I've heard, the guards are actually scared of this particular inmate. They leave them alone for the most part.
Objective 3 - Locate the Caster
Description
Sneak into the top floor of the prison and eliminate the person who has been using the Imperium curse.
Objective 4 - Defeat Richard Pliyat and return the research to Shauna Heriches
Description -
Defeat Richard Pliyat on the top floor and take [1 Unspeakable Research] back from him and return it to Unspeakable Shauna Heriches.
Dialogue
- [1/3] The research! Thank heavens!
- [2/3] This is incredible... I will go to the warden at once and ask for a pardon for my crimes. Maybe now he'll believe me!
- [3/3] Thank you. Truly, thank you. Here, take what I have on me. It's but a fraction of what you deserve.
