Overview

The Warden has tasked you to do another task. You must help a prisoner, but as you are helping them it seems there was a planned escape.

Quest Progression

To begin this quest, speak to the Warden NPC inside of The Dark Prison on the bottom floor.

Dialogue -
  • [1/3] Ah, glad you're here. I have another task for you.
  • [2/3] There's a certain prisoner, Nico Krauss, who is related to a very prominent Dark Follower.
  • [3/3] We need to keep a closer eye on him as he has been known to provoke other inmates and be problematic. Would you go check on him and ensure everything is alright for me?


Objective 1 - Check on Nico Krauss

Description - 

Find Nico Krauss's cell on the top floor of the prison to ensure there are no issues.

Dialogue -

  • [1/1] I was so close...


Guard

  • [1/3] There was just a massive hole blown into the side of the Dark Prison! Someone on the outside must be trying to get Nico Krauss out…
  • [2/3] Thankfully the Dementares were here and Nico is restrained. It was a really close call though.
  • [3/3] You should go report back to the Warden about what happened.


Objective 2 - Report back to the Warden

Description - 

Return to the Warden to report the breakout attempt.

Dialogue -

Warden

  • [1/3] Hmmm... There's a massive breakout attempt the very day you start working here? And, you happen to be there right as this is taking place?
  • [2/3] I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. You clearly only took this job to help break prisoners out!
  • [3/3] Attempting to help inmates break out is a clear violation of wizarding laws. Let's see how you like being a prisoner yourself…


Objective 3 - Escape the Cell

Description - 

With assistance from Jason, break out of your cell to prove your innocence to the Warden.

Dialogue -
  • [1/8] Ooooh! A new cellmate! I do hope you are tolerable to be around. My last got on my nerves and let's just say he isn't in this cell anymore.
  • [2/8] Wait a second- you were that guard that came and fixed the sink I blew up! There's no way you belong in here.
  • [3/8] That must mean you are trying to get out and "prove your innocence." Well, I have some things I'd like a friend on the outside to do for me. Perhaps I could help you escape if you return the favour in the future.
  • [4/8] Of course, just escaping wouldn't be enough. If you hadn't noticed, the magic has been drained from your wand. You would also need to sneak into the Warden's Office to get a new wand core.
  • [5/8] Now. In terms of how to get out of here, I may or may not have been planning this for some time. I was a magical arsonist back in the day and have a way with making things burn. So, I have a recipe laid out for [1 Bluefyre Bomb] on the crafting table in the corner. You can use this to explode your way out of the cell!
  • [6/8] All of the needed ingredients for this bomb are nearby and waiting for the right opportunity. However, I couldn't just leave them lying around or the guards would confiscate them.
  • [7/8] They're all hidden very well in places I honestly don't remember. I do remember that when I exploded the sink, I took a key off of your belt and hid it inside the sink, which you so kindly sealed up. Perhaps start there.
  • [8/8] Great work making the [1 Bluefyre Bomb]! Now, use it to make yourself a way out!


Objective 4 - Restore Magic to your wand

Description - 

Sneak to the Guard Captain's Office starting at Jason's cell on the first floor of the Dark Prison, making sure not to get caught in the process. Then, steal [1 Magical Wand Core] and craft it back into your wand.

Dialogue -
  • [1/3] At the end of this hallway is the office belonging to the Warden's second in command, the Guard Captain.
  • [2/3] You should be able to find a magical core in there that you can use to restore the magic to your wand.
  • [3/3] You need to be extremely stealthy as the Dark Prison is well-guarded. Make sure not to get too close to guards and to always sneak around them.

Tips

  • To unlock this quest, the completion of Into the Dark is required.
