Overview

Emberskins keep coming into Griffin's Hollow and killing residents. However, these creatures are very intelligent and do not simply attack without reason. Talk to a Magizoologist nearby and put an end to the Emberskin attacks.

Quest Progression

To begin this quest, speak to Bethany Bernauer in her home in Griffin’s Hollow.

Dialogue

  • [1/4] Really? Emberskins are the ones killing Griffin's Hollow residents?
  • [2/4] They're very intelligent creatures and don't simply attack without reason.
  • [3/4] Ms. Kneazler is our local magizoologist. She may be able to figure out why they are attacking.
  • [4/4] She lives just on the other side of the church and there should be a few creatures around her house. Could you go inform her of the situation?

Objective 1 - Speak to Ms. Kneazler

Description

Seek assistance from the magizoologist that lives in a small house on the other side of the church and with creatures out front.

Dialogue

  • [1/6] Hello! It's an absolute pleasure to meet you. It's so exciting that someone is stopping by to see me!
  • [2/6] Emberskins are attacking people? Oh no! We need to figure out why before any snakes get hurt!
  • [3/6] I suppose we should simply ask them why they're attacking. Of course we would need to find an Emberskin first.
  • [4/6] Emberskins are strongly attracted to flames and live by the hundreds at the burning village over the mountain to the east of Griffin's Hollow!
  • [5/6] Then, once you find one, you can use this [1 Cage] to capture an Emberskin.
  • [6/6] Oh! And here, take my [1 Serpenttongue Guide] to decipher what the snake has to say!

Objective 2 - Capture an Emberskin

Description

Go to the burning village over the mountain to the east of Griffin's Hollow and capture an Emberskin using [1 Cage].

Objective 3 - Decode the Serpenttongue

Description

The Emberskin can only communicate in Serpenttongue, the language of snakes. Click on your [1 Caged Emberskin] to speak to it and use Ms. Kneazler's [Serpenttongue Guide] to determine what the Emberskin is trying to tell you! Then, return to Ms. Kneazler.

Dialogue

  • [1/3] I'm impressed you were able to understand him! I'm so glad we will be able to help these precious creatures.
  • [2/3] Emberskin venom is a very magical potion ingredient. I bet they're trying to say that the local potioneer is the one hunting them! It makes sense that they would be attacking in self-defence.
  • [3/3] Please head down to the potion shop to make sure the potioneer stops! You can find it among the shops to the northeast of the church!

Objective 4 - Confront the Potioneer

Description

Go to the potion store in the shopping district northeast of the church and explain to the potioneer why he needs to stop killing Emberskins.

Dialogue

  • [1/3] The Emberskins are mad that I'm hunting them?
  • [2/3] Well, it's not my fault other wizards aren't skilled enough to defend themselves against a bitty little snake.
  • [3/3] I absolutely will not stop. I need them for my potions!

Objective 5 - Teach Marc a Lesson

Description

Release the [1 Caged Emberskin] in Marc's potion store to teach Marc a lesson and ensure he stops killing Emberskins. Then, speak to Marc again.

Dialogue

  • [1/2] Wait! Please! Get this thing away from me!
  • [2/2] I promise I will never hunt them again- just please get it out!

Tips

  • Make note of the symbols that represent the letters to help you decode the Serpenttongue.
  • If you do not know which direction is which, you can press F3 (or fn+F3) to view the direction your character is looking towards.
