The Battle of Grimlotts (Live)

Overview

On June 18th, 2022, players were able to attend a live roleplay event that took place in the vaults of Grimlotts bank. Marked as the finale that wrapped up the official roleplay storyline, members from every allegiance and club converged to help take down Grux.

Storyline

The live event was the culmination of Grux’s storyline. First appearing in the Hunt Stage 2, Grux was revealed to be a mastermind with the Hunt Stage 3 was spent tracking the goblin down. When he was found in his base, he fled to the class server and managed to escape amid the chaos of a duel. During The 5th Battle of Potterworld, Grux worked up the nerve to actually attack Hogsworth. After his opponents fought their way through the overrun school, they faced Grux in the Room of Hidden Things, where the ghosts of Sara Selwyn, Matt Griffiths, and Aure Pendragon fought on his side. Even when his allies were defeated, Grux managed to escape with the power of the Obscurium, which he had found right before the battle. Once he took off, Grux hid in the Crestello Vault in Grimlotts. During the lead-up to the final battle, players had to break through barriers and collect Raw Magic. However, even after collecting the Raw Magic, a final push was still needed. A sacrifice of magic was necessary to get into the vault. The Vampire Queen, Chailey Selwyn, and the Werewolf Alpha, Kade Everard, volunteered to be the sacrifice. Both died in the process.

Upon entering the vault, the leaders of each allegiance were faced with Grux. When Casara Griffiths approached Grux, the mastermind cast a spell, killing the Auralock. As Grux prepared to start a ritual, Noah Pendragon, the Dark Lord, led the attack to stop him. However, the group could not break the barrier that protected Grux, and he was able to initiate the ritual to steal all of the magic in the world. 

Joel Crestello attempted to fight Grux but surrendered. He offered his wand and announced that he would kill and die for the mastermind. However, Joel took out a dagger and stabbed Grux, betraying him to honour Sara Selwyn, a victim of the 5th Battle of Potterworld. Grux did not think the dagger would be enough to defeat him, but the mastermind promptly lost his powers. Henry Chimera, the Dark Baron, finished him off with a single spell. 

Grux dying caused an instantaneous malfunction of the ritual. All of the magic that he had become a vessel for exploded back into the world, an act that caused significant consequences. While most of the party seemed to be okay, Rani Lightwood, Chief Auralock, found herself depleted of all magic and unable to cast. Due to her new lack of magic, Rani decided to step down from her position as Chief Auralock. 

The rest of the group continued to say their goodbyes, each leaving to pursue their individual goals they had the years before and during the 5th Battle. Joel revealed that he had been to the Chamber of Mysteries during the Battle of Hogsworth, and that is where he got the dagger that could weaken and slowly kill Grux. He then took the Obscurium for safekeeping before leaving the vault. The Battle had ended, and peace was once more allowed to sweep the land. Unrevealed amounts of changes had taken hold of the wizarding world, but for the first time in years, the fighting was over.

Activities

Barrier Bomb Crafting

In order to break through the barriers that Grux set up, players had to craft bombs to get to him. To make the Barrier Bombs, players had to obtain the Concoction of Valour, Sweat of the Athlete, and Feather of the Inquisitive and craft them together. Players obtained these items through a sequence, answering trivia, or doing parkour.
