The 5th Battle of Potterworld

Overview

Released on May 22nd, 2022 as a dungeon, the 5th Battle of Potterworld occurred when Grux officially attacked Hogsworth. Leaders and important members from every roleplay allegiance and club were there to help fight off Grux.

Storyline

After Grux casted the Flipellius spell on Chief Auralock Matt Griffiths, causing him to fall to his death, and with the mysterious warning found in the Dark Follower base, Grux became emboldened enough to attack Hogsworth. He was attempting to obtain a powerful item that was hidden within the walls of the castle and was able to recruit some recognisable faces.

In the Great Hall, leaders and inner-circle members from all of the factions prepared to fight Grux. Before they could manage a hit on him, the powerful goblin created an impenetrable barrier and taunted the factions. Instead of fighting them in the Great Hall, Grux disappeared, forcing them to chase him.

The factions then fought their way through his Humunculi mobs while solving puzzles along the way. The Grand Staircase was particularly treacherous to navigate and necessitated that they parkour to make it through. After traversing to the Divination classroom, they came face to face with the ghost of Dark Mistress Sara Selwyn who appeared to be working for Grux.

They then had to jump from the Divination classroom to the bottom of the building, with only one spot allowing them a safe landing. After landing, they found themselves trapped in a room that was quickly filling with water with a single door that needed knowledge of runes to get through.

Once they made their way to the quad within the castle grounds, they encountered the ghost of Chief Auralock Matt Griffiths. Unlike Sara’s ghost, they needed to fight Matt’s ghost. Right before he could be defeated, Matt Griffiths escaped and made his way back to Grux. Fortunately, Matt left behind a warp key, allowing the factions to follow him to the seventh floor of the castle and into the Room of Hidden Things. Inside, they found their way through a constantly transforming maze until they found Grux.

Grux managed to get the item he was there to find, the Obscurium, which is a tome containing untold power. Utilising the Obscurium, Grux was now incredibly powerful and summoned the ghosts of Sara Selwyn, Matt Griffiths, and Vampire Count Aure Pendragon. While the battle was difficult, the factions were eventually able to defeat the three ghosts, though Grux used the power of the Obscurium to escape.

Activities

Dungeon

Unlike other Roleplay events, the 5th Battle of Hogsworth entirely took place inside of a dungeon. Players were able to access it through /dungeons and needed to queue up with three other players, for a total of four. The main goal of the dungeon was to chase down Grux and had to navigate their way through a warring Hogsworth. Along the way, players faced various obstacles such as parkour, a dropper, fighting mobs, and a maze in the Room of Hidden Things.

Daily Diviner Breaking News

On June 3rd, 2022, a Daily Diviner Breaking News article was released. It detailed the battle and commemorated those who had lost their lives.

Rewards & Collectables

Completion of the dungeon did not give players any physical items, instead, it gave them one Roleplay Token. These tokens can be traded in by talking to Madame Janette at the Roleplay Hub.
