Roleplay

Overview

Official roleplay was hosted by the Seer team up until its disbandment and consisted of live events, in-game events that players could play through, along with smaller updates posted on the PotterworldMC Youtube channel.

In roleplay, there are three allegiances and three clubs, with almost each one having its own leader. The first two allegiances added to the PotterworldMC store were Dark Followers and Auralocks. Shortly after, Phoenixes were added and the S.P.E.W. club was also added. Werewolves were the next club to become available, with Vampires being the latest club to be introduced.

Though roleplay has been integral to the server since its inception, there have been different official storylines spanning back to 2016. Official roleplay was in an ongoing storyline that started at the end of 2019 and continued to mid-2022.

Allegiances

Dark Followers

Dark Followers (DF) seek to free everyone from the chains that the Ministry of Magicians has kept them in. Typically led by the Dark Lord, they have a history of evil and ambitious violence. They wish to rule the wizarding world, and destroy anyone who gets in their way. To talk amongst themselves, they have an in-game chat that uses the prefix /d. They also have access to a Dark Follower-specific channel on the Potterworld Discord.

Phoenixes

The Phoenixes always choose to fight for good, as well as against those who attempt to harm both the wizarding and unmagical worlds. While they are on the side of good, they can break the law to stand up for what they believe in. To talk to other Phoenixes, they can use the Phoenix chat in-game with the prefix /p or the channel on the Discord. They also have a base that was originally released during the Risen From Ashes live event and is now accessible in the Roleplay Hub.

Auralocks

Auralocks are strict when it comes to following and upholding the law. They work under the Ministry of Magicians as the primary law-enforcers of the British wizarding community. Usually, they answer to the Chief Auralock, currently Rani Lightwood. Auralocks have their own in-game chat that they can talk in with the prefix /a along with a channel on the Discord. Their base in the Ministry can be accessed in the Roleplay Hub.

Clubs

S.P.E.W.

The SPEW club is the oldest club on Potterworld, but also one of the smallest today. They stand for the rights of house-elves in Britain. Unlike the other clubs, they do not have a leader or a base. However, they have an HQ located in Carket Market.

Werewolves

The Werewolves are advocates for Werewolf rights and the increased legislation to protect Werewolves. Currently led by Kade Everard, the Werewolf Alpha, Werewolves are fierce opponents of those who have oppressed them in the past. The Werewolf base is able to be accessed through the Roleplay Hub.

Vampires

The Vampires were introduced in October 2020, along with A Total Eclipse, an event where a war was fought between the Vampires and the Werewolves, which the Vampires ended up losing. The Vampires are currently led by the Vampire Queen, Chailey Selwyn. Their base is accessible in the Roleplay Hub.

Roleplay Hub

The Roleplay Hub, accessed through an NPC in the Great Hall, allows players to join ongoing live events. Players are also able to teleport to the allegiance and club bases through the Roleplay Hub, with both PvP enabled and disabled. Additionally, around the Roleplay Hub, some citizens may comment on recent developments in roleplay.
