Risen from Ashes

Overview

Risen from Ashes was a Roleplay event that occurred after the release of the new Phoenix base on the 30th of January, 2021. During this event, players were able to explore the new Phoenix base, complete short challenges in the form of quests, search the base for secret interactions, and speak with the NPCs.

Storyline

After former Ministry Official Shakti Bhardwaj and her fellow Dark Followers initiated Operation 83-C and incinerated the old Phoenix base, wounding and ending the lives of many, the Phoenixes were left with nothing but smoke and ash. Threats were being tossed left and right and tension was rising at an alarming rate among the magical community. Amidst all the chaos, the Phoenixes worked meticulously to build a new base where they could thrive again.

During the live event that led up to Risen from Ashes, Root of the Problem, the Dark Followers planned another vicious attack on the Phoenixes after finding out about a series of tunnels below their new base.

Quests

Entrance to the Embers

The player had to prove they were worthy of entering the Phoenix base by successfully completing two different challenges. The first challenge was an exam designed to test their mental ability and the second challenge was a parkour designed to test their physical ability. Once both challenges were completed, players were able to enter and freely explore the Phoenix base.

Duty Calls

The player had to run various errands for June, such as locating Joey’s luggage and returning it to him, caring for plants in the Greenhouses, and helping Aline organise the Library.

Head of the Dragon

Wanting to return the favour for helping the Phoenixes, Joshua Pendragon offered to teach the player Mindmency. The player had to explore his memories and do several individual tasks. In the first memory, the player had to complete the Alchemic process by using the different materials. In the next memory, the player found themselves in the old Phoenix base during the attack of the Dark Followers the year prior. The player had to dodge spells while trying to reach Joshua’s brother, Noah. The last memory was within Joshua’s subconscious mind. Once the player completed the dropper, they would discover the intriguing secret behind Pendragon’s past.

Healing Help

Arabella needed help with brewing a healing potion for an injured Phoenix in the Hospital Wing. First, the player had to locate the textbook in the Library. Next, they had to scavenge for the potion ingredients in the Greenhouses and the Kitchen. Arabella then sent the player to help some other Phoenixes while she brewed the potion. The Phoenixes asked the player for suggestions on a variety of things such as food, spells, and how to get more sleep. Finally, Arabella asked the player to give the injured Phoenix the healing potion.

Spicing Up The Battle

A Phoenix Trainee requested the player’s help in teaching them about using herbs for combat. The player had to collect the herbs of each combat type in the Phoenix base by navigating their way through a maze. Once the player collected all of the herbs, they had to wash, dice, and dry them. The player then had to pass the Combat Readiness Test. Following the completion of the Combat Readiness Test, the player had to sort the herbs into bushels. They received one of the two exclusive bushel collectables depending on which herbs they used for this task.

The Alignment Assignment

Max asked the player to help him look for previous defensive formations with the intent of finding useful information and improving the Phoenixes in battle. The first task he gave the player was to grab the Book of Ash from the Library. After reading the book, the players were given a short quiz to take. Max then called out different formation types and the player had to recreate them on a chalkboard.

Activities

Hidden throughout the Phoenix base were 30 hidden interactions and 15 NPCs. If players found all 30 hidden interactions and all 15 NPCs, they received an exclusive reward which regarded additional lore to the story of the event.
