Auralock's Redemption

Overview

The Auralock’s Redemption roleplay event saw the reopening of the Auralock Base in the Ministry of Magicians. The event lasted from August 21st to September 10th, 2020, though the build is still accessible to the public at the Roleplay Hub.

Storyline

The Chief Auralock, Matt Griffiths, decided to open up about his past after the Auralocks became untrustworthy in the eyes of the public due to the previous corrupt Chief Auralock, Shakti Bhardwaj. Previously, during the Attack on the Ministry live event, the Phoenixes and Dark Followers confronted Shakti Bhardwaj and destroyed the Auralock’s base. Part of the Chief Auralock’s plan included reopening the Auralock Base and allowing for the public to gain insight on some of those on the Auralock force. By becoming more personable, the Chief Auralock hoped to regain the public’s trust and improve the reputation of the Auralocks. The Chief Auralock would prove to be committed to improving the Auralocks during the Werewolf Rights Rally at the end of that August.

Quests

Total Recall

This quest allowed players to take a look into Chief Auralock Matt Griffiths’ memories through the Memory Walker found in his office. After accepting the quest, players were transported to Hogsworth, where Dark Followers were attacking and they had to get inside the clock tower. After speaking to the Chief Auralock’s NPC, players then moved on to take the Ministry Test. To move on, they had to take an excerpt of the test that the Chief Auralock had to when he became an Auralock. This test tested their morals, beliefs, and loyalty to the Ministry. Finally, players came to the Chief Auralock’s office, where they had to do a parkour in order to get a file relating to the corrupt Shakti. Once they completed the quest, they received a special collectable, an Aurorlock Eye.

Activities

Hidden throughout the Auralock Base, there were 14 secret interactions and 4 hidden areas for players to find. These would give insight into the Auralocks and occasionally Dark Followers.

Daily Diviner Feature

A Daily Diviner Feature was released on August 22nd. This feature included an interview with the Chief Auralock himself, Matt Griffiths. Released at the start of the event, it dived into his motivations for becoming an Auralock and his plans for the future.
