The Werewolf Rights Rally

Overview

On August 29th, 2020, members of the magical world gathered in the halls of Ministry Courtrooms to show their support for the Werewolf Rights Rally. This live roleplay event was initiated by the Werewolves to discuss matters negatively affecting them, such as the lack of access to the Wolfsbane Potion, anti-werewolf laws, and the classification of Werewolves in the government’s eyes.

Storyline

This rally came after years of discrimination that Werewolves faced. With a new Chief Auralock being appointed, the Werewolves took this change of hands to get their voices heard. During the rally, the Chief Auralock seemed receptive to fixing the issues that the Werewolves brought up. During the event, three new measures were immediately implemented: self-defence laws that state Werewolves may only be killed in life-or-death situations, increased taxes to pay for additional access to the Wolfsbane Potion, and the change for Werewolves to be classified as humans.

Activities

Throughout the rally, attendees were encouraged to discuss their opinions on the happenings of the rally. Their ideas and discussion ended up becoming a factor on which measures and laws were implemented.

A Daily Diviner article was published in the days preceding the rally to hear the goals of the Werewolves from the temporary Alpha Werewolf herself, Alexa Larkspur.

A Daily Diviner article was published after the rally to digest the events and to outline the new changes that were to occur regarding Werewolf rights. The two Werewolf representatives present at the event, Alexa Larkspur and Aspen Grey, were also interviewed.
