Overview
The annual Winter Waltz Eventsevent took place at SilvermorneSilvermorne Academy, an American wizarding school. Taking place from December 10th, 2022 through January 7th, 2023, players were able to explore the school and participate in some exciting activities.

Storyline
Silvermorne Academy was getting ready for the holidays by making gifts, decorating the castle, and playing fun activities. The peak of the festivities was the Masquerade Ball, held once students were able to make enough lanterns. Throughout the yuletide season, students could make masks for the ball while getting to know the local students and staff.

Location
Located on the highest peak of Mount Greylock in Massachusetts, Silvermorne Academy is a scenic castle entrenched in the nature of the surrounding area. The monochromatic castle allows the flora to take over the blank canvas and brings the castle to life. Four large marble statues are found outside of the front gates of the castle, with each one representing a Silvermorne house. Throughout the castle, students can often find both magical and Unmagical creatures wandering.

Quests
There were four quests in the form of challenges that were based on each house. Upon completing each quest or challenge, players were rewarded with Event TokensSnowflakes. Snowflakes were an event-only currency and could be earned through completing quests and activities. They could be used to purchase rewards.

Air Challenge
For the Air Challenge, players started in the Resaye Common Room where Blake’s scarf flew out the window. After starting the challenge, the player had to complete a parkour using the Spells Listspell Leviomora. Once they completed the parkour, they needed to solve a puzzle involving air currents. Once they placed the air currents in the right direction, they would climb the clouds. Eventually, players had to find seven wind blocks scattered throughout the clouds to move on to the fourth and final challenge, the speed parkour. Using the winds they collected earlier, players had to complete a speed parkour, and at the end, Resaye appeared to return the scarf.

Earth Challenge
Yantatte’s Spirit had gone missing, somewhere deep underground, and the player had to rescue it. First, players needed to find and use tools to get through piles of dirt and stone. Then, players needed to find a bundle of dynamite to make their way further into the cave. After getting through the Tough Stone level with dynamite, players were able to rescue Yantatte.

Fire Challenge
In the Fire Challenge, players had to go through the Ruins of Fire to gather 3 Aspects of Fire and combine them at the Fire Chamber. There were three separate floors of the ruins, gaining an Aspect of Fire on each floor. In the first room, plates had to direct a beam of light to the correct pillar. In the next, players had to gather different coloured potions to go through different rooms. Finally, players had to use a bird to light up pots in a dark cave. In order to make it through the cave, they had to keep standing in the light of the pots and manage their time wisely to make it to the end of the room.

Water Challenge
In this challenge, players needed to help Berrora unfreeze the forest from an evil curse by solving puzzles, learning new spells, and collecting Water Drops. Players had to fight a variety of mobs, including FairyFairies, Frogs, Ice Fires, Baby Yetis and KappaKappas. The spells players obtained during the challenge allowed them to navigate the tricky forest. Eventually, once they got a key and opened a door, they had to take a quiz about the Berrora house. Finally, the player had to fight the Evil Snowman in order to unfreeze the forest.

Advent Quests
There were twenty-five different advent quests that players were able to complete. Each day a new advent quest was unlocked and available. However, players had to complete the prior advent quest before being able to complete the next one.

Winter Waltz at Silvermorne - Day 1
This quest had players travelling to Silvermorne Academy and exploring the school at the start of the yuletide season. Headmaster Tulnuru showed the player the Great Hall and explained a bit about the festivities that would take place at the school. The player then met the four Headmasters of each house – Headmistress Estella of Tuilaiwen, Headmaster Tulnuru of Resaye, Headmister Arlo of Yantatte, and Headmistress Celuilla of Berrora. Players were then sorted into one of the four houses during the Sorting Ceremony.

Curiforesty - Day 2, 6, and 12
Some creatures have gotten stuck in snow piles around the school. Jaden Osborn needed the player to help the creatures get free. Once the creature was released, they were brought back to Jaden for him to take care of.

Out in the Cold - Day 3
Alma had been looking for something around the castle, but she could not remember where she lost it or what it was. Once the player searched around the school, Alma remembered that there was a bad blizzard years ago and she tried to help a fox stuck in a pond.

Mail Overflow - Day 4 and 10
Due to the blizzard, there had been a back up in the mail system and Jaden Osborn needed the player’s help to sort through all of the mail. To do so, they would pick up objects from the pile and put them into their correct category.

Sorting Priorities - Day 5
Oakley needed players to help them choose if they wanted to study or play. If players chose to play, they needed to find a toy from each of the different common rooms for them. If players chose to study, they needed to make flashcards for Oxley in order to help them revise for their school work.

Memory Maze - Day 7
Alma had remembered some more details she was searching for in the quest Out in the Cold. She gave the player her memories, which helped them find the fox carving that was very important to her in life. Once recovering the statue, Alma wanted the fox carving placed next to her gravestone.

Chef’s Help - Day 8 and 11
John Watts, the chef, needed players to help them prepare a stew. Players had to head to the greenhouse to pick up a Wailing. After that, players headed to the storage room in the kitchen to pick up the necessary ingredients. Upon returning to the kitchen, players prepared and delivered the stew to the chef.

Green Fingers - Day 9
In this quest, Professor Nelowie gave away her last Wailing White to the chef and needed players to help grow another one in order to keep it in stock. The player had to grow the plant in the greenhouse, which had the optimal climate for the plant.

A Magic Touch - Day 13
Professor Weiss needed the players' help in preparing the school for the upcoming Winter Waltz festivities. The players needed to visit every common room and help tidy them up by doing a small chore. Chores ranged from breaking the icicles formed in the Resaye common rooms to cleaning up the fireplace in the Tuilaiwen common rooms. After players were done, they had to report back to a grateful Professor Weiss.

A Cold Night - Day 14 and 20
Samuel Peshlakai needed the players' help in cleaning the chimneys in all of the common rooms in preparation for the cold winter. Players had to grab the broom beside Samuel and proceed to each common room in order to clean the chimneys. After cleaning all of them, players returned to Samuel, who thanked them for their help.

Looking out for the Littles - Day 15 and 21
Ruth Mendoza, the Pre-Years teacher, required players’ assistance on a busy school day. Players first had to talk to Rylan and tell him an entertaining story. After that, players built a block tower in the shape of a rocket for Ainsley. Upon successfully building a tower and making both children happy, players returned to a satisfied Ruth.

Care Package - Day 16 and 22
Samuel Peshlakai needed the players to make 3 care packages. Players first needed to collect the blankets from the storage rooms before heading over to the Charms Classroom. Once there, they spoke to the Charms professor in order to make a jarred fire. Finally, players headed to the kitchens to make hot chocolate. After gathering all the items needed, players had to give the created care packages to Ruth Mendoza in the Pre-Years area.

What a Cold Mess - Day 17
Professor Nelowie required the player’s help after a heavy snowstorm. While shovelling snow, players first needed to check on the plants in the greenhouses, and had to craft fertilisers for the flowers in them. After that, they checked on the different creatures on the grounds to ensure that they were not harmed.

Regal Repairs - Day 18 and 24
Samuel needed the player’s help to repair the damaged house statues at the entrance of the school. Players head to head to the storage room to gather the items needed before heading to the Transfiguration Classroom to craft the energy required for the repairs. Finally, players headed to the front of the school to repair all of the statues.

Sedimental Value - Day 19
Amber required the player’s help in looking for 5 different shaped rocks to replace the ones that had gone missing. Players needed to look around the area for one chunky, pointy, smooth, jagged and misshapen rock. After that, players had to arrange the newly found rocks in a specific arrangement before returning to a grateful Amber.

The Exam - Day 23
Players had to take a written and practical exam to showcase everything that they have learned during their stay at Silvermorne. Players first answered questions in a book as part of the written exam. After finishing that, players had to showcase their ability of wandless magic by levitating blocks without a wand. After completing both exams, players spoke to Amber to finalise their work before leaving the examination classroom.

Graduation Ceremony - Day 25
It was the end of the time spent in Silvermorne, and all players who had completed all the advent quests were able to take part in the graduation ceremony. Players first needed to head to the sorting clearing and shake hands with all 4 housemasters. Players then got a private moment to speak with their own housemaster before being handed a specific house wand. With the wand given to them, players had to stand in a stone circle before shooting a firework spell in the air. Players could then head to the front gates of the school and take a graduation photo with all of the school staff if they wanted to. Finally, players went back into the school and spoke with Amber Pearson to complete their graduation ceremony.

Side Quests
Three side quests could be completed during this event. These side quests were able to be repeated every 12 hours and were found throughout the school.

A Gift to Share
Everyone at Silvermorne was in the gift-giving spirit, which resulted in a lot of gift requests. Professor Anderson needed the players’ help to wrap the gifts in time. Players were able to choose their own wrapping paper and ribbon, and could even open the gift themselves if they wanted.

An Ornamental Tradition
Brook used to make ornaments every year with her family, but she could not go home for the holidays that year. To make her feel more at home, the player was able to make ornaments by picking the colours and features of the ornament.

Creative Cuisine
This side quest took place in the Silvermorne Kitchens, where players were given one of ten dishes to create. These included: Herb Roasted Turkey, Maple Glazed Ham, Vanilla Pudding, Cheesecake, Mashed Potatoes, Corn Casserole, Apple, Cranberry Salad, Pumpkin Spice, and Eggnog. To make the dish, players had to collect the ingredients from around the kitchen and complete a sequence.

Activities
Masquerade Ball
During the event, players obtain Lanterns based on their Silvermorne house that they were able to turn in in the Silvermorne Great Hall. To unlock the Masquerade Ball, each house had to collect 10,000 Lanterns in total. After it was unlocked, to access the Masquerade Ball, the player had to turn in 100 Lanterns. Once at the ball, players could explore and purchase special, unique rewards.

Frigid Fixing
Melody Tinselson, found in Silvermorne’s Library, had a favourite snow globe that would constantly break. The only way to repair it was for a witch or wizard to repair it from within. To do so, the player got temporarily shrunk down and placed in the snow globe. Once there, they needed to find the correct materials and place them in the correct spots. After completing the timed activity, players received Frozen Glue. Players unlocked a special reward after amassing 750 Frozen Glue.

Mask Making
In the Art Classroom, Kaleb asked players to help make as many masks as possible within 5 minutes. To do so, there were five different tasks they had to complete. These included: grabbing feathers, dying feathers, catching a Niffly, finding the gem, and finding the matching mask. Players were able to increase the number of masks made in the 5 minutes by working together to make masks.

Minigames Tournament
Throughout the event, players had access to three winter-inspired Minigamesminigames through <span style="color: #ccffcc;">/games</span>: Sledding, Wand Spleef, and Snowballing. The tournament included three separate leaderboards for each game. As players participated in the games, they earned points on the leaderboard. After running from December 10th, 2022 through January 7th, 2023, the top five players on each leaderboard won a variety of rewards.

Minigames
There were nine minigames that could be played during this event. Minigames from the previous Winter Waltz events were brought back during this event.
